Taylor's phone changes throughout the movie. You can tell by the camera lens on the back.
When Taylor is dumped at the side of the road by Sammi, we see the license plate of her Jeep Cherokee. In a later shot, at the school, the girls pass by a Subaru Forester with the same plate as Sammi's Jeep.
Taylor goes to school on her birthday, April 23rd. However, the film takes place in 2011, and April 23rd was a Saturday that year.
Almost everything the history teacher says in the movie is false. It is true that Teddy Roosevelt gave his "Man in the Arena" speech on April 23rd, 1910, but the other "on this date in history" statements are incorrect. She claims that William Shakespeare was born on this day in 1564, but his actual birthday is unknown. He did die on April 23rd (in 1616), and he was baptized on April 26th, 1564, but his birthday is unknown. She also claims that the first motion picture was shown on this day in 1896, however, the first motion picture was shown to an audience in 1894... in June. It is true that one process for projecting motion pictures debuted on April 23rd, 1896 in New York City, but it was not the first motion picture shown to an audience, or even the first motion picture shown to an audience in the United States.
