The just-retired Regis Philbin is already eying his next big gig. Or gigs plural, even,
Speaking with New York Post‘s Page Six, the former Live! co-host announced that he and his team are “contemplating a show that is sort of a talent show…a family competition.” Philbin added that this latest project is “going to be on primetime” when and if it comes to fruition. Reege also says he has been approached about reviving the variety show format.

While original TV movies continue to struggle on broadcast TV as evident by the underwhelming ratings for the Hallmark Hall Of Fame film on ABC last night, the genre’s resurgence on basic cable continues. TNT has decided to extend its Mystery Movie Night franchise into the spring, greenlighting today the original movie Hornet’s Nest, an adaptation of the Patricia Cornwall novel that will star Sherry Stringfield and Virginia Madsen. The green light for Hornet’s Nest comes ahead of the debut of the TNT Mystery Movie Night, which features original movies based on popular crime novels. The franchise is set to premiere tomorrow with Scott Turow’s Innocent and continues Wednesday with the Sandra Brown novel Ricochet, starring John Corbett, Julie Benz and Gary Cole. The series will feature six movies this month and in December before returning in the spring with Hornet’s Nest and three other movies to be announced.

Julie Benz would love an on-camera reunion with her former "Angel."
Now recurring as Patrick Wilson's sister on the CBS drama "A Gifted Man" -- on which she's featured Friday (Oct. 14) -- the "Dexter" and "No Ordinary Family" alum is game for a guest shot on Fox's "Bones" once the show returns Thursday, Nov. 3. That would put her back in the company of series star David Boreanaz, who was Angel to her Darla as still seen in weekday-morning TNT repeats.
"David and I always had a very special relationship," Benz tells Zap2it, "and to work with him again would just be very exciting. We joke around about it, and hopefully, it'll come true. Charisma Carpenter [alias Cordelia on both 'Angel' and 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'] is still a close friend; with David, the two of us are always like, 'We need to work with you again!'"
Carpenter will reteam with James Marsters,...

Exclusive: John Corbett and Julie Benz lead the cast of TNT's two-hour movie Ricochet, based on the best-selling book by Sandra Brown. Gary Cole and Kelly Overton co-star in the project, the second entry in the network's recently announced new TNT Tuesday Night Mystery movie franchise slated to launch in November that will feature six contemporary crime dramas, from true-crime stories to fictional mysteries. Det. Sgt. Duncan Hatcher (Corbett), a sexy Savannah homicide cop, falls hard for Elise Laird (Benz), a dishy damsel-in-distress. She's married to corrupt Judge Cato Laird (Cole), who consistently subverts Hatcher's efforts to bring a local drug lord to justice. Things get complicated when Hatcher and his feisty partner, Det. DeeDee Bowen (Overton), are called to the Laird home after Elise supposedly shoots an intruder in self-defense. Production on Ricochet begins next week in New Orleans.
