The writers had no idea that Japanese luck dolls exist after penning the script and on finding this out decided to incorporate Daruma legend in to the story.
The film was shot in eight days.
The filmmakers received horrific news that a family member had mysteriously died on the first night of the shoot. A chain of unfortunate incidents continued to occur during filming.
