As of the year 2022, Bakhala is granted permission to come out of prison on weekends, and must return during the week. He was charged with the voluminous possession of narcotics in 2017. Most people believe the narcotics were planted and that Bakhala (Giorgi Giorgana) was wrongfully convicted and politically incarcerated long term. 20 years ago Tornike debuted his first experimental feature, Listen to Chopin - a film letter to their friend Mel Raido / London. In this film Bakhala played one of the leads - 'The Police Rabbit', a police officer on a mission - helping friends finding each other. Listen to Chopin was screened at Tbilisi International Film Festival 2002 and received the "Parajanov Prize" for it's aesthetics. 20 years later, with Bakhala behind bars, Tornike found himself in a situation where he felt he needed to write another letter through film. With the help of his friends, Tornike filmed "In Bax", documentary/ drama / comedy.
Most people believe the narcotics were planted and that Bakhala (Giorgi Giorganashvili) was wrongfully convicted and politically incarcerated long term. Special case was him criticizing the system during the court process. Bakhala's official release date in May 2023. He began to participate in featured films and TV series while coming out on weekends and spending time with his family and friends.
