BORDELLO DELUXE and its sequel CLOSE HOUSE represent an attempt by French pornographer Marc Dorcel to introduce a first-person format (similar to the "point-of-view" videos emphasizing multiple angles on a solo girl performance). It's not very successful in exploiting the gimmick, but does vary the XXX formula a bit.
The first-person camera takes us into a brothel, with lots of video distortion in the set-up to each vignette. Structurally the problem is that once we get to the XXX action, the video is indistinguishable from any other. So why bother gimmicking it up in the first place.
The male protagonists here are shown with their faces "cropped off" (out of frame), but a handy "Making of" featurette (named CLOSE HOUSE to confuse us with the sequel) identifies them. Yasmine and Natali DiAngelo are reliably arousing in their performance, though IMDb leaves latter out of its credit list.
Director Tony Del Duomo blows hot and cold: he did an adequate job here and a superior one on THE GOVERNESS and AT YOUR SERVICE, but I recently watched a not-in-IMDb 2004 video of his entitled CORPORATE SECRETS (and featuring a mega-portly Ron Jeremy in XXX action) that was truly terrible.
