In March, as the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on the music industry was just coming into focus, the online music platform Bandcamp came up with an innovative way to help artists in need: For one day, the site waived its revenue share on all sales, giving musicians more of the money made off of each record, tape, or T-shirt. Fans responded in huge numbers, spending more than $4 million that Friday. Those results were so encouraging that Bandcamp is now extending this sales holiday to the first Friday of the next three months,...

Hey, Big Brother Fans. First, we just want to apologize. We previously ran a supposed leak list of 6 houseguests from a source on Twitter, and it turns out that none of those houseguests are actually any of the people that will be participating in the upcoming Celebrity Big Brother edition. It was a shock to us. The good news is the real cast actually looks a whole lot better than any of these fake leaked houseguests. As promised, CBS and the Big Brother producers finally revealed who will officially be participating on the first ever Celebrity Big Brother edition when it finally debuts on Wednesday night, February 7, 2018 at approximately 7 pm central standard time. They revealed it during the huge 2018 Grammy Awards tonight. There's a total of 11 houseguests to go over here. So, get comfortable. With no further ado, let's get right into this pretty ok sounding houseguest list. The first...

Stars: Kumail Nanjiani, Zoe Kazan, Ray Romano, Holly Hunter, Anupam Kher | Written by Emily V. Gordon, Kumail Nanjiani | Directed by Michael Showalter
Michael Showalter, best known as an actor and writer on the Wet Hot American Summer TV series, directs this gentle culture clash comedy, based on the real-life experiences of (screenwriters) Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley).
We meet Kumail (Nanjiani) and Emily (Zoe Kazan) around 18 months before the latter is put in a coma. He’s a stand-up in a run-down comedy club; she’s a Psychology student. More of a meet-awkward than a meet-cute, his chat-up lines are cheesy and she’s kinda goofy. They hit it off, and we get the standard highlights reel from the next few months of their relationship. Then Emily discovers a box of photos of other women. These are the potential wives chosen for Kumail by his Muslim parents.

Biopics loom large, with Benedict Cumberbatch, Felicity Jones, Eddie Redmayne and David Oyelowo all considered locks for their first nominations for roles in films such as The Imitation Game, The Theory Of Everything and Selma. Plus, from the advance buzz on the true story movie Foxcatcher, it seems like we're going to have to get used to the phrase “Academy Award Nominee Channing Tatum” pretty soon.
Even the old guard potentials are pleasingly off-beat, with Michael Keaton tipped for his first nomination, for playing a former superhero actor in Birdman and Patricia Arquette almost a dead cert to...

Adult World
Stars: Emma Roberts, Evan Peters, John Cusack, Armando Riesco, Shannon Woodward, Chris Riggi, Scott Coffey, Darin Scott, Reed Birney, Catherine Lloyd Burns | Written by Andy Cochran | Directed by Scott Coffey
Helmed by actor-turned-director Scott Coffey, who many may recognise from 80s films such as Some Kind of Wonderful and Space Camp, Adult World is another in a long-line of American indie dramas – you know the type: the ones that mix witty dialogue and a hip soundtracks in the hopes of creating something loftier than the rest. This particular example follows Amy (Roberts), a naive college graduate who believes she’s destined to be a great poet, who begrudgingly accepts a job at a sex shop while she pursues a mentorship with her idol, reclusive writer Rat Billings (Cusack).
