First of all I read the cast listing with Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames & Luke Goss I got very interested & had a certain expectation to what I was about to see in this film. I can't understand how they managed to wrangle these guys into this boring thriller, I just don't get it. As the movie goes there really isn't very much to say, the plot is as thin as the paper the screenplay was written on. It begins with all of our cast(minus Ving) rolling down the highway in what seems to be a trip for college students, with Val Kilmer appearing as a professor of some sort seaming to be the leader of the group accompanied by his wife, it's not made clear what the whole trip was about probably due to the fact that it all means nothing due to the van crashing into a tree after a shadow of a girl appears. Then they build up that a MASSIVE storm is approaching & they wind up stranded at Ving's place.Everything that happens next was to me kind of boring, not very exciting and overall not that entertaining. They had such talent to work with & they wasted the potential of that with a bad script & limited character development. Rhames character was by far the best, without him the film would sink faster than the titanic, he holds that certain kind of unsettling conviction that worked well in his character, but even he cannot save the film. When the twist was revealed it was somewhat surprising, but nothing to write home about or text your friends about. 5/10

I don't recommending paying to see this film in any form whatsoever.

this movie is special for several reasons, it shows us that people like Val Kilmer, Ving Rhames, Luke Goss etc...looks like they hit an all time low in there careers or the recession is worst then we thought and they need money real bad to do this either way the end results are the same. newcomer Rebecca Da Costa wants to be the new queen of the C movies. they probably filmed the entire movie in 2 weeks. now to the film the only good thing about the movie is you get to see a little leg for a few seconds. the rest of the movie is bad and only gets worse time drags on. it might be enjoyable with a bottle of bourbon or with sleeping pills. low budget bad movies is one thing, this movie is something worse.

The wolf lawyer Bill McCormick (Val Kilmer) and his estranged wife Brooklyn (Bonnie Somerville); the brothers Issac (Luke Goss) and Adam (Matt Barr); and Dr. Lipski (Christian Baha) are returning from a resort in a van. They stop in a gas station where Adam and Bill woo the attendant Courtney (Rebecca Da Costa) and when they return to the road, the driver sees a mysterious woman on the road and crashes the van on a tree.

The driver dies and the group of strangers is helped by Jack (Ving Rhames) that invites them to go to his house since a storm is coming. Adam meets Courtney with her broken car on the road and she joins the group. Soon they find that they are trapped in the house that is inhabited by ghosts. Further they learn that one hundred years ago a family was slaughtered by their insane son and they can see the boy killing his family again and again.

"Seven Below" is a senseless and lame ghost story and one of the worst horror movies that I have ever seen. The plot is an awful rip-off of the storyline of Claude Chabrol's "Alice ou la Dernière Fugue", with a car crash on a tree and the character trapped in a house.

Ghost stories are usually attractive, but unfortunately "Seven Below" does not make any sense. The characters are poorly developed and Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames are absolutely decadent in their careers. My vote is two.

When it comes to movies I always have an open mind and enjoy losing myself in the plot but when I say this movie is bad, I mean this movie is bad. It is so bad that I decided to share my opinion and feel it's my duty to share it so that I might be able to help those that have not watched this yet, save their time and energy and dedicate it to something else....ANYTHING else.

The acting was laughable for most of the cast with the exception of Goss, Kilmer and a few others. I honestly thought that I was going insane because I couldn't accept that a movie as bad as this had actually been made.

I am not even making sense as I type this because I can't even express or communicate in proper English and Grammar just how dreadful this movie is.

In summary......for the love of all that is good and pure in this world....don't watch this movie.

This movie was terrible. From very bad acting to implausible situations, and yes I realize that the entire movie is an implausible situation. What I am talking about are the characters acting completely irrational in certain situations. People just don't do what the characters did, especially if you have ever seen a horror movie in your life.

I too found the sound to be terrible. Storm completely drowns out the dialog at points in this movie.

I love "B" movies and I will gladly waste time on a less that stellar movie, but I regret wasting my time on this one. To call this a "B" movie is to elevate it to a position it does not deserve.

IMHO, save your money, save your time and do not bother with this one. A real stinker.

This was by far the worst thriller I have ever seen. Lousy acting, cinematography and storyline. I wonder how much this film cost to produce and whether they actually expected it to be a successful picture at the box office. Complete let-down considering the actors cast and it is now obvious tho was purely a financial thing for all of them. Does anyone know of this director and any of their previous work? Would be interesting to do some sort of comparison. I'm just so astonished that this sort of crap gets given the time of day at the box office. Its far below D grade in terms of quality. I suggest we all go and watch The Green Mile or Inception and relax knowing that there is some sort of talent in this world. Its almost as if a group of guys sat around a table and thought "now how can we waste some money...?" My 10 year old sister makes better films on Viddy. Waste of time, I rate it 0/10.

I know I must have seen worse movies in my life but I honestly can't remember when. The writing and directing (especially the pacing of the story line) are unforgivable. Carraway should be blacklisted from the industry and I don't feel that that is being hyperbolic on my part at all. This guy should NEVER be allowed to make another movie. EVER. Did he learn anything about writing or filmmaking before he embarked on this project because it certainly doesn't appear that way. I am literally ANGRY about having watched this amateurish clap trap. No, wait, that's an insult to amateur filmmakers who undoubtedly could have done a better film than this. I imagine that a considerable portion of the movie's budget went into getting Kilmer and Rhames on board but it did little to help the quality of the film. In fact, I'd say either man likely gave the worst performance of his professional career. But what do you expect with Carraway's horrible writing and seeming inability to properly give his actors something to do in a scene other than stand looking at one another in wooden, lifeless poses. I "love" how he escalates the action only to bring it back down again in this sort of anti-climactic sine wave that rolls irritatingly along throughout the movie. One minute they're yelling at Jack, convinced he's out to get them, and the next everyone's just walking around the house again having poorly written conversations. As much as Carraway is to blame for this pile, the fact that someone green lit this movie is beyond me. I know a lot of studios put out these horrible, typically straight-to-DVD releases to make a quick buck, but seriously, can't you at least try not to make them suck so completely. In short, this is movie is an absolute insult to all struggling writers and filmmakers looking for their big breaks. They work hard everyday to create compelling, innovative new stories, and you let THIS guy make a movie?

"Bellow Seven" (2012) is a Horror Thriller which has as the most famous actors in it Vig Rhames and Val Kilmer. The film deals with the history of a house, where in 1911 a family was murdered, and that 100 years later, after an accident, some people get stuck in it, along with a strange man who takes care of the house (Rhames).

Frankly speaking, this is one of the worst movies in every way I've ever seen: the story is very weak, and is extremely cliché, and has many holes in the narrative, which is inconsistent and without any interesting point.

The footage is bad, even renting a house with theoretically more than 100 years, it has everything brand-new, even the infrastructure of a new home, with nothing of dust or cobwebs, even in places that would be less care of.

Otherwise, besides a gas station and a forest (well cared for that matter), has no other locations. Special effects in just a few seconds in the final minutes (and even they were poorly made​​).

The actions and roles are some of the worst I've ever seen: the best of all, in a regular performance is Vig Rhames, and Val Kilmer (who I no longer consider a good actor), is terrible, with a brief paper and without a definite personality (from a rude guy to a mentally ill one from nothing). The others actors / characters are meaningless and horrible.

The music and sound effects are adequate, nothing more.

In total is a poor film, not even a class B one, a total loss of 1 and a half hour of my life... this is really a movie that should stay 7 feet below the ground. My score: 2.0 / 10.0.

In the past few years when you see ether Val Kilmer, or Ving Rhames in the movie it may be more than questionable. The copy I watched had very bad sound mixing. The sound of the storm and rain falling would drowned out the dialog allot of the time.

Val Kilmer, has seen much better days in his day, this is not "Tombstone" for sure

This is one of those movies. B-movie, weak story, holes in the plot corny lines. I did get all the way through it though......... barely. If your paying to see this, I wouldn't, if not its a OK way to kill some time!

Ving gave a Oscar award winning performance as Jack. He should have gotten the, biggest creep or the Most creepiest award.Peeping through holes in the wall. Running through the room with a bed sheet on. Laughing with a fiendish laughter. Or maybe the most out of place award what is a actor notorious for playing crooks and convicts doing in a secluded rural country house. look at how the people act non nonchalantly. people dieing. This movie is a modern day Plan 9 from outer space. Ed Wood would have been proud of this movie. This movie ranks up their with attack of the killer tomatoes. Explain to me how a nine year old boy could kill a grown man with a knife by stabbing him one time, unless he hit him directly in the heart or neck, but steal seemed like he could have put up a fight.

I thought the movie started off great,we got to know the characters,I'm only familiar with Val Kilmer and Ving Rhames.As the movie went on it seem like it started to lose it's momentum,like the writer got confused with his own story line.I don't remember seeing any promotions for this movie.The scenery was great but the plot got lost in the shuffle to the point by the in of the movie it was just confusing and to me didn't make sense,and I felt the end of the movie could have been done better.This is a movie I believe the writer lost his way half way through the film.It's good for a one time watch,more money with more special effects would have made it a more worth while watch.I don't believe there will be a sequel.

There seems to have been some confusion about the meaning of the title to this film, with viewers quite understandably (but wrongly) assuming that it somehow relates to a sub-zero temperature. My understanding is that the number refers to the seven people that we see at the beginning of the film—the six people in the van, and the cashier at the garage—and that the word 'below' alludes to the perpetual 'hell' in which they are trapped, which in this instance is an eternity in the presence of Ving Rhames and Val Kilmer as they give possibly the worst performances of their careers.

Not that Rhames and Kilmer are the only ones at fault in this unmitigated supernatural disaster: the majority of the blame must go to writer/director Kevin Carraway, who clearly had no idea how to develop his script beyond its trite 'we're all doomed to repeat our torment forever' initial concept, the result of which is an hour and a half of utter nonsense (filled with terrible characters and risible dialogue). If the driving force behind the whole film is unable to adequately explain what the hell is going on, then what chance do the cast have? And, consequently, what chance do the viewers have? Suffice to say that the film is incredibly dull, very frustrating and leaves many questions unanswered, the most obvious being 'How the hell did this garbage ever get made?'.

N.B. Two of the prop newspapers have grammatical errors in their headlines; they couldn't even get that right!

Awful movie, If you would like to see a movie that makes no sense at all in the end then by all means give this one a go.

It is probably the worst movie I have ever seen and I have watched a fair bit of bad stuff in my days.

This movie made absolutely no sense at all, The editing was horrible, the screenplay terrible, the acting was brutal.

Anybody who says this movie is good must not get out much, I strongly recommend avoiding this thing like Cancer.

What I wouldn't give for the last 2 hours of my life back!

I don't know how they sat down and decided to make this, I am still sitting here scratching my head.

I mean they could have taken it in quite a few different directions to make it a bad movie, but this is just plain AWFUL!

The only reason people are watching this is because of Kilmer and Rhames.

If they needed money that badly we could have started a Go Fund Me page!

This movie could have been a very good horror flick, good actors, decent creepy premise, but alas it's not to be. What a waste. Horrible writing killed this thing. The plot is a complete mess. The ending doesn't know what it wants to be or do. It's a shame that they couldn't come up with a better script than this. I know 5 year olds that have wild imaginations that could be turned into amazing scripts. What a shame they spent the money on Rhymes and Kilmer and then wrote the script over a weekend, but forgot to spell check. This movie is all over the place and the ending is trying to be one thing then another. A total mess.

I don't know whether the writers of synopses gain kudos in doing so, but I would like to request that if English is your second or third language (and I truly take my hat off to you and admire you for being multi-lingual) then please don't write the synopsis for a movie listed in IMDb. English is a strange language to learn, and if you don't fully understand it, then the synopses you write can become tortured, the spelling hellish and the use of colloquialisms ridiculously distracting.

Those who do have English as their first language, get off your butts and help out here! Don't leave it all to German, Brazilian and Spanish people to write English synopses.

This was a great movie although the house itself is too modern for the premise of this story. I love the idea of this story...mainly because I like filling in holes and trying to "see" what the writer is trying to say.

As for the main characters, I HATED Val Kilmer to the utmost which is where the writers were trying to go. Val Kilmer's character is the antagonist in the present as well as 100 years ago. I really enjoyed Ving Rhames;s performance - this story was his story and should have been told from his perspective.

As for the rest of the characters, they were really much too comfortable in a "stranger's" home, way too comfortable. In the end, as Ving Rhames put all the pieces together the (fill in the blank) thought it would be fabulous to write him out...too bad...Rule One: Never kill the Source or the one who knows all.

Nothing is perfect, but this story was ruined by "a lot of ego, greed and stupidity". Most true artwork lives a tragic life and "7 Below" is not exempt.

Where can I get the Director's Cut? Also, where are the features feature on the DVD? Has the Editor of the final cut been haunted into oblivion yet? Were the accents on "Courtney" and the "Dr." REALLY needed?

So yea, I had a redbox code for a free DVD that expired at midnight tonight, so I decided to rent this and even with the decidedly high price of free I still felt ripped off by this asinine little tale 'haunted house' tale. Unoriginal and filled with horrid acting (and by at least 2 people that should know better), this travesty will make the worst insomniac drowsy. Usually even in the most crappy horror films, I can (if hard pressed) at least point to a scene or two that were memorable, if not necessarily good. Not so with this one. Avoid it.

Can't believe I lasted 48 minutes in.

I will gladly post my address so someone can come over and punch me in the face for actually attempting this to enjoy this movie.

The plot is horrible. The actors are horrible. Val Kilmer is HORRIBLE. I also loved sitting through the opening credits with 15 production companies logos going across the screen. 2 of which have the word "fish" in them. My wife and I wanted to sit down and watch a scary movie on a rainy day. Now I have to suck it up and go get another movie. UGH......

Stay away if you aren't willing to waste your life away.....
