Well there are no budget films, then low budget films and in between we see this fine example of "'Allo 'Allo" budget films. This one even has it's own version of "Michelle from ze resistonce" as it reminded me of that equally poor British wartime film "Wolves of War" - also made this year. Anyway, not that it matters but the plot involves a troop of commandos who find themselves stranded in France after a botched raid. Initially under the command of the pretty useless "Lt. Quayle" (Mark Kitto) they proceed to lurch from frying pan to fire aided by some woeful dialogue, basic special effects and an ensemble performance that does nothing for the CVs of James Oliver Wheatley, Sophie Craig or auteur Bill Thomas who has created what is frankly a waste of file space. It has a video game feel to the it this - the episodic nature of the story evolves in waves, resets in a different location - farmhouse, barn, roadside - then we start again with more expletives and profundities from the embattled squad. Just why this was made is anyone's guess, but as to reasons for watching it - well that's much easier to answer. There are zéro.

Possibly the worst WW2 movie I've ever seen. There is no story, no plot to speak of and the "action" is totally unrealistic. Amateurish writing and direction with actors who apparently don't know how to act. Some of the cinematography is okay but is wasted on a bad script.
Not much else to say to fill up the required characters for a review so I'll just repeat the first paragraph and caution you to not waste your time on this one.

Its like a schoolproject with to much funding. Starting with the basic as wrong uniforms, very unrealistic backgrounds, holding their guns as if they have never seen one, attacks with the wrong weapons, being in the open without enough time to talk while there are at least 15 enemies in the same shot who are not firing and more weird and unlogic events. An officer rushing in with a hand gun within 50 meters of at least 20 enemies with machine guns, etc. I have to be honest, after 15 minutes I turned it of because it would irritate that much.
Dont misout and do something else with your time, because the movie aint worth it.

I agree with Flarp21's review... Possibly the worst WWll movie I've seen (part of)... I kept thinking "It must get better... what about the awards?" But after about 15 minutes I bailed, as I figured it wasn't worth wasting any more of my life I'll never get back...
This movie is like a low-budget High School project movie... The costumes are a wierd mish mash of whatever they could find at the local surplus store... a mixture of US & British cast offs...
The acting is on a par with the props, as are the special effects...
How on earth it actually won awards is totally beyond me... unles they are like the "participation trophys" awarded in elementary school...
Anyway, I suggest you don't waste your time either...
