The frog protagonist has a strong aversion to water. Frogs need to keep their skin constantly wet so that they can breathe through special pores in their skin. If their skin dries, the pores close and they suffocate.
When Ribbit and Sandy are logging down the rapids with water splashing everywhere, neither show a single drop of water on them.
