A lawsuit involving two chart-topping songs — one by hip-hop superstar Rick Ross, the other by electropop duo Lmfao (Stefan Kendal Gordy and Skyler Austen Gordy) — has degenerated into the kind of legal esoterica that will keep copyright lawyers in the entertainment industry up at night. On New Year's Eve 2013, Ross, along with his producers including Jermaine Jackson, sued over Lmfao's 2010 song, "Party Rock Anthem," which contains the catch-phrase "Everyday I'm shufflin'." Ross alleged this was an infringement of "Hustlin'," off of his own 2006 album and containing the lyric, "Everyday I'm hustlin'." On the road

Goodie Mob took the stage to perform their new song "Fight To Win" at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night.
Although fans were excited to see Cee-Lo Green and Goodie Mob back together, the true star of the set was Jean Sok, a one-legged dancer from Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour. Dressed as a soldier, Sok gave a truly powerful performance and left a lasting impression on viewers.
Clad in white Adidas tracksuits, the hip-hop foursome (Cee-Lo Green, Khujo, T-Mo, and Big Gipp) then surprised the audience by launching into the Beastie Boys classic, "(You Gotta) Fight for Your Right (to Party!)," as a tribute to Adam "McA" Yauch, who lost his battle with cancer earlier this month.
In other Billboard Music Awards news, Katy Perry picked up the Spolight Award for matching Michael Jackson's record of five No. 1 singles on the Billboard charts off a single album.

Bigger and badder than anything Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum have done before, "21 Jump Street" is the kind of action comedy that is getting labels like "instant classic" thrown around (okay, maybe we said that). And while the movie has been marketed hard, one thing you won't be getting (oddly enough) is an official soundtrack or score (which is a pity because Mark Mothersbaugh of Wes Anderson-film fame composed the score), but not to worry because we got you covered there.
Below you'll see the list of every song featured in "21 Jump Street." It's a pretty diverse mix of stuff ranging from the classics (The Clash, N.W.A.) to the up-and-comers (Foster The People, Rye Rye), and we've included samples of the songs referenced in the movie including Pete Seeger's take on "Fifteen Miles On The Erie Canal Song" and Mary Martin's rendition of "I've Gotta Crow." First they had us shufflin.' Then they introduced us to the wiggle. And for their latest video, for the club-thumping track "Sorry for Party Rocking," the guys of Lmfao are throwing the ultimate cartoon-like house party.
The clip, which premiered Monday night, opens with an older couple (played by Lmfao's Sky Blu and RedFoo) arguing over the ruckus of a nearby house party, hosted by Lmfao's very own Sky and Red. When the older gentleman makes his way over to the party to complain, he gets the door slammed in his face. Inside the party, the guys and their colorful crew are wearing their animal-print and neon-colored clothes, dancing and drinking the night away.
When they refuse to shut down the party, the older man calls the police. But instead of shutting it down, they join the madness. So does everyone else: from pizza delivery guys and sexy nurses...

Lmfao’s patience is rewarded as the duo’s “Sexy and I Know It” finally rises to the summit after waiting at No. 2 for seven weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. Its ascent means that Rihanna’s “We Found Love” finds its way out of the top spot, slipping to No. 2. “Sexy” is Lmfao’s second No. 1, following “Party Rock Anthem” featuring Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, which ruled for six weeks. For those who love chart minutiae, and who doesn’t, Lmfao is only the second duo, following OutKast, to have successive singles on the Hot 100 since Roxette in 1990-1991, according to...

New York -- Adele dominated music this year, and iTunes was no exception.
The British songstress had iTunes' best-selling album and song, and was named as its top artist.
Adele's "21" is the year's top-selling album with 4.8 million copies sold. Some of those numbers came from iTunes, where the album was the most popular; following behind was "Sigh No More" by Mumford & Sons, Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV," Jay-z and Kanye West's "Watch the Throne" and Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto."
Adele's No. 1 hit "Rolling in the Deep" was the best-selling song. At No. 2 was Lmfao's "Party Rock Anthem" (with Lauren Bennett and GoonRock), followed by Katy Perry's" Firework," Bruno Mars' "Grenade" and Cee Lo Green's "Forget You."
ITunes picked Nicki Minaj as its breakthrough artist of the year, Foster the People's "Pumped Up Kicks" as its song of the year and "Wasting Light" by the Foo Fighters as album of the year.
