This is the first cartoon to accurately portray Wolverine's berserker state, without toning it down due to censorship.

This is the only X-men cartoon series not to censore Wolverine's healing factor or his beserker rage. Many of the previous cartoons do not animate wounds on Wolverine let alone him healing his wounds instantly. Also Wolverine's Infamous Berseker fury is also toned down in other media.

Nightcrawler, Colossus, Rogue, ArchAngel and Deadpool appear as members of the extended X-men. None have speaking roles, however. Captain Britain and Ironman also appear to help them.

With the exception of Mastermind and Emma Frost. The HellFire Club member are all original. Rat a mutant with the ability to unleash keratin spikes, Marsh a mutant with a liquid body and Squid a mutant with tentacles that control the nervous system. They are somewhat similar to Spike, Mercury and Black Tom Cassidy.

Yui Sazaki is based off Moira MacTaggert and Gabrielle Haller. Both lovers of Professor X. The former being a scientist and the latter being the mother of Professor X's son. Takeo Sazaki is based off Kevin MacTaggert aka Proteus and David Haller aka Legion. Like the former he can warp reality and like the latter he is mentally unstable and is Professor X's son.
