Just happened upon this on 'Crackle.com' and I really am glad I did. Fast paced, slick action and well-acted for a series made of short web episodes! good believable casting, Brian Hooks and Ryan Ahern are the standouts in my opinion, along with a cameo by none other than Tyrese Gibson. All of the characters seem to belong in the world of over-the-top, anything goes nightlife. I really hope there's a season two! I give it eight out of ten only because it's incredibly dark, as in little light, lots of shadow and late night imagery. Definitely worth seeing. I've seen other more obscure work from Vin Diesel, like 'Multi-Facial' and 'Strays' and in each case he shows real skills.
Crazy, ass show in the NY nightclub life. I like the familiar faces I already know from other movies . Vin well done! I have to say that life is so crazy, I can't imagine even how these guys live a normal life. Binge worthy from crackle
At first I was skeptical when I stumbled on this title on crackle.com, however I really got into the story. After watching the end credits of the last, I found myself here searching for new episodes :-p. The characters really pull you in. At the beginning, I really didn't know who to root for (characteristic of most of Vin's roles), but toward the end of each episode it gives you just a little nudge who the REAL villain is. The Ropes is full of anti-heroes (and heroines) from Stacey (Rizzio's right hand woman) even to Ralphie. Reminiscent of NYPD blue, it makes for a good half hour of television. I am not a huge fan of all the profanity, (the episodes on crackle are NR so I suppose that allows them to get away with it) but I can surely see this show doing very well on FX or another station like it (if Mr. Diesel ever wanted to branch out of the internet.) Also, the camera jumps a bit much on a few episodes, making some of the good action sequences hard to follow at times. I never knew the life of a bouncer could be so sordid until I saw The Ropes, but it DID make me want to know more and I am eagerly awaiting the next episode!

I stumbled across this after looking at it 100 times before whilst flicking through Netflix and thinking "this looks rubbish" ,how wrong i was. OK its predictable but the story is fast paced with all the intricacies life can throw at you especially in the role of security. The roles are well cast and believable. Vic especially grows on you for sure. I am no word smith but i hope the few lines i write will at least encourage you to give these series a chance. Its good, honest entertainment that doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. I am sorry there isn't a series two and i hope Vin Diesel will write and produce one.
