Before I'd like to start my review, I would just like to point out that this is my first review ever on IMDb, in the 4 years I have been viewing this site. I feel like this should be my one occasion where I write a review; for the benefit of this show.
Over a year ago, I was listening to a podcast called LEOG, which can be found on spill.com. For the past several months prior to this episode of the LEOG, the crew had been raving about We're Alive for quite some time. I was intrigued, as on this specific episode I had to finally cave in and listen.
So I downloaded the first episode. It was a slow start, yet this is not a flaw at all. The show had me hooked straight from the beginning. From there on in, I downloaded the entire show (up until the current episode) and listened to them all as I went on a camp. I've also been listening to each episode as they've been released all year.
The show benefits from a very strong vocal cast. Each actor is not only distinguishable, yet extremely likable. Every word that is spoken throughout the show is never out of place. As well as this, the sound effects add a beautiful subtle effect on the show, as well as chills during those haunting moments. Props to the sound editors, if only I could shake your hand.
Without going into details on the story, the journey in which these characters go through is incredible. I've never cried during anything in my life a part from the Six Feet Under finale, but never had I felt so sad during "The Hive" episode. Make no mistake, We're Alive is full of raw, human emotion.
Before I begin repeating myself, for there is not much to say here without using a thesaurus, I would just like to say that this show is one of the best things I have invested my time in. This is the first review on this site for We're Alive, so I decided to just rush this review for the sake of the show. You don't have to love zombies to love We're Alive. Must listen.
