It is an amateur-detective comedy series set on the glittering gay mile of Oxford Street, Sydney - home of the world famous Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade. It follows the adventures of FANNY SCAT, a middle-aged drag queen who, in the face of a changing world, turns to private investigating in order to make ends meet. Fanny is famous for her outrageous home-made costumes and a complete lack of boundaries when it comes to entertaining an audience. She was once a star, but times have changed, her glam pub is now a run-down backpacker bar, the cabaret room is full of poker machines, and at 45, Fanny finds herself broke, alone and in the midst of a mid life-crisis. A serial bum-bag thief is targeting her bar, consequently visitor numbers have crashed, and the bar can no longer afford Fanny's wage. With only a week of employment left, and her career hanging by a g-string, Fanny decides to investigate - and things get stranger.
