Roma Amor is an extremely talented filmmaker, likely taken for granted as her erotic videos have a consistency that can seem monotonous -too perfect. This romantic story is superlative -gave me new appreciation for her approach.
There's no dialogue, just voice-over narration that presents the cast's points of view (clearly voiced by others, giving the accents not matching the actors on screen).
It presents a loving couple Kira Queen and Aaron Rock getting married, but first making a personal pact to not have sex for the nine weeks before their wedding day. Goal is to make the wedding night all the more special.
Movie is book-ended by abstract shots of them fully dressed (in wedding duds), swimming underwater. Story is told in flashbacks and erotic fantasies/dreams with sex footage (in the dreams -remember, they're celibate until marriage) shot in Roma's trademark style with chiaroscuro lighting and highly tactile sexual close-ups.
After showing us the couple taking a sexy bath together (but of course minus any sex), that changes into groom Rock's erotic dream of a wedding night with two twin brides. It's imaginatively staged with the ladies in large bird cages, cuing a sensual, slowly paced threesome with the real bride Kira and a younger, less buxom but strikingly lookalike Canela Skin. The scene is pure eroticism and a classic of its kind.
Second dream sequence has stunning Candy Alexa posing the duo for wedding pictures outdoors and then magically transforming the scene into night-time where she seduces the bride. Lesbian porn fans should really dig it.
Movie concludes with the actual wedding night and Rock making love to Kira. It's not an anti-climax and with the voice-over leaves the viewer with a sense of not everything being all right and according to plan -what one might have called in earlier times (pardon the sexism we grew up with) "thinking man's porn".
