When Jeremy's Grandpa points toward the window to out across the street indicating to Paige and Marissa where Michael was shot; the separation of the window curtains is significantly wider to the way they were when Painge and Marissa first walked in.
When Jeremy questions his grandpa, he asks him to repeat what he witnessed the other night adding that it was Marissa's son that got shot. However, Marissa introduced herself as a reporter to Jeremy and his grandpa, and not as Michael's mother. Additionally, Marisa's name was not mentioned in Paige's text only the fact that her boyfriend was killed.
When Marissa and Paige are in the department store browsing around, Paige gets a text message from Jeremy stating that his grandpa saw the killing.
She then asks him if they can interview the grandpa right now. Jeremy answered yes but he has to leave for work in an hour.
This is the first promising lead they have had and they only had an hour window but despite that, instead of rushing out, they continue shopping and buy a few things as evident by the shopping bags they are carrying as they exit the store. This makes no sense when you take into account the aforementioned situation.
