It’s impossible not to like Inside the Mind of a Dog. The latest Netflix documentary, directed by Andy Mitchell, does exactly what the title says, i.e., attempts to figure out man’s best friend from a scientific perspective. That doesn’t mean the documentary lacks the human factor, though. With dogs as the subject matter, how can that ever happen? We’re going to look into what happens in the documentary and then share our thoughts about it in this article.
What Happens in the Documentary?
Narrated by actor Rob Lowe, who himself is a dog parent, along with experts and scientists on dog behavior, the documentary kicks off by tracing the origin of our furry friends. Today, Amanda B., a finalist of the first Spotify Sound Up accelerator for women and non-binary podcasters, announced the launch of her original independent podcast 6 Degrees of Cats, a 25-30 minute bimonthly culture and history-themed series featuring a diversity of multidisciplinary expert voices. The podcast is produced, edited and hosted by Amanda.
“This podcast is my dream project. It unites my lifelong love of cats with my pattern detection skills, my passion for storytelling, and my curiosity for all things art, culture and history,” said Amanda. “Especially in these polarizing times, it’s such a joy to use research to playfully deconstruct and interrogate the black-and-white assumptions we have, such as the false binary of cat versus dog. I see it as a way to celebrate the misunderstood and the marginalized. Like cat ladies, such as myself. And cats, of course.”

Just a few months ago, Netflix appeared to be on a very rough track. Then Stranger Things season 4 came around and led to a less-apocalyptic-than-expected Q2 earnings report for the streamer. With its new releases for August 2022, however, Netflix is going to have to find another hit to keep the good vibes rolling. Here are some of their best options.
Perhaps the biggest breakout candidate for Netflix this month is The Sandman on Aug. 5. Though Neil Gaiman’s classic comic has long been thought to be unadaptable, the folks behind 10-episode series are betting they’re the ones for the job. Get ready to meet Morpheus, the king of dreams and the ruler of The Dreaming.
