Probably the first show that Sienna watched, already around 2014, I think? And I'm not even sure how, because we didn't have a TV then. It must have been a combination of marketing at Walmart and other retailers with episodes (including episodes in Spanish) available on YouTube, and then eventually iTunes purchases. Since then it has been an off-and-on favorite of both kids (mostly in Spanish translation) through 2019. It's not bad, but a little too much of a massive Disney advertisement for my taste: the underlying message that any girl, even "commoners," can become a princess by learning, and the regular cameos by "real" Disney princesses such as Ariel, is thinly veiled marketing. But at least Sofia's step-sister Amber is in line for the crown, and Sofia's kind-hearted actions are promoted, instead of Amber's usually bratty behavior.

By the time I've gotten watching this series in early 2015, By the time it happened on Ariel Winter's Birthday, I've started to hooked into it, As it begins, Sofia was with James and Amber (Children) as well as King Roland and Queen Miranda (Parents), They went into many different adventures of musical and decision making, Sometimes like Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures they solve problems and helping others on being supportive and teamwork.
I've enjoyed this Series, Sometimes it has Hits and Misses, When sometimes when sofia clones herself where she was the opposite of being or mean, I've found that a little disturbing, She also enjoys on Wild Fantastic Rides with Princesses that were found in Different Disney Movies, In some story episodes that one Princess would explained on the life that happened on their role of helping their Prince in harm or danger, and sharing their moments.
Note: The one thing I've got to see is "Once Upon a Princess".
With that being said, It has been a pleasureable viewing experience that I will enjoy it over and over again, I recommend this to whoever fall in love with the Different Disney Princesses that they grew up with.
It has a Strong Pleasant Ending, to say the least, It had a good run of Its Own, It has its spinoff Series titled: "Elena of Avalor" (which that show is still running).
My Favorite Story Episodes which I do Love from this series were, The Leafsong Festival, Sidekick Clio, and Lord of the Rink.
I'm sure that many people that love this series, will enjoy it over and over again and so do I.
Thanks for reading my review.
My Rating: 8/10 Grade: B+

Since the first episode I watched I just fell in love. First of all Sofia is just such a cute lovable little girl. She is kind, and sweet, and caring. There are also plenty of musicals throughout the show. I am a 22 year old and I love this show. Normally Im not a big fan of Dinsey shows ( I think they are dumb and unoriginal ), but this is just such a great show and one actually learns good virtues. There should be more shows like this out there instead of shows that just kill people's neurons. I would honestly recommend this show to anyone. I would be upset or anxious about taking exams and just watching Sofia be brave and go against other's negative thoughts that she can't do it,it just gives me motivation and reminds me I can do anything I put my mind to.

No matter what, little girls are always going to want to be princesses. Sofia the first is the perfect princess for little girls to look up to. She may not always get everything right but she genuinely tries to be kind-hearted and compassionate towards all. Most importantly she learns from her mistakes that even the best of us can make.
Aside from the strong moral values of the show, Disney has created a beautiful kingdom that will entrance you. There is magic, fun, the occasional song and each episode is very entertaining. We also can't forget Sofia's animal friends that can talk to her. It is a truly whimsical adventure that all children young and old can enjoy.

When I first came across Sofia the first, my expectations were kind of low, because it was labeled as Disney Junior. I was babysitting my cousin at the time and I was tired of it. Anyways, I found this show on Netflix and started watching with my little cousin. Then, I fell in love with this show.
Sofia looks really adorable. She has a chubby cheek, very cute smile and many facial expressions. Also her personality isn't perfect, but she has genuine feelings and morals, which makes her very likable person.
The stories are quite simple, yet not too shabby. It's not dramatic, or complicated, and anyone in the show make mistakes and reflect upon themselves and learn what they have done wrong. There's no permanent antagonist or protagonist.
I would recommend this show to age 5-20 girls.

its great virtue - courage to not be original. than - the old fashion message who reminds the dreams of little girls to be princesses, the magic of Disney from the creator 's movies, the joy of childhood, the moral lessons in convincing, sweet forms. a princess like each of her viewers- nice, clever, wise in many moments, innocent, fan of justice. and a seductive universe around her. short - a series who must see it. not only for drawings or music, for the status of vehicle to a lovely universe but for an interesting script who teach in the right manner. Sofia the First is almost an oasis for its public. and the best thing is the measure who defines it.
This show is an annoying pile of ugly. Why do you reviewers think it is so great. The show is so boring and i hate Sofia. She is such an annoying brat. The comedy is horrendous. Watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. It teaches kids things and does thru creative animation and stories. I think this is the worst Disney cartoon, or even the worst show on Disney.

Sofia the First is a fantastic show with great characters, some of the best 3d animation, wonderful songs, and teaches great lessons to kids.

Why so many users give it 10 stars? This show is a spoiled girl, with poorly sung musicals in the background, irritating characters, please go see anything else, it's better than this singing brat.

I have always liked Disney movies and T.V. shows. This T.V. series is something everyone will enjoy. If you haven't watched Sofia the First yet, maybe you should try watching it with your children to enjoy this timelessly beloved Princess. She teaches everyone valuable lessons about how to work with one another. Our favorite moments are when we share our love to our friends and family. Everyone will cherish their memories watching this too. If we always help each other, we will be loved by one another. Sofia has such a loving heart and a kind and caring side whenever someone's in trouble. I wish everyone could see a good side of themselves and remember the importance of what it takes to be a good helper in case something happens and reach out to give a hand to that person or even an animal. I enjoyed watching this series and everyone will too. Many memories live within us and we will always cherish them as a part of our hearts and great deeds.

each animation is special. because it reminds the flavor of childhood to the parents, discovers the magnificent worlds of fiction to child, gives new dimension to time, life, love and joy. but "Sofia the First" is not an ordinary case. because it use the princess theme in a precise and inspired manner. it is a down to earth animation, a sort of guide for young public in which errors and events and meets and good facts, moral values and fight against evil are not exactly parts of magic universe but pieces of each new day. and this is a precious virtue because the series represents , almost, a didactic tool. sure, the ingredients of fairy tale are not ignored but the message is more profound. and more practical. so, a special series. nothing else.

The words to describe this disgrace are annoying, awful, and true torture machine. In the parts I have seen of it all I saw was awful plots singing dragons and a ugly Pegasus. A summary of one part is ok u have uncontrollable super powers that are a danger to society and rabbit legs come with me to a horrible spoof of the ice queen and if u sing to her she will start tap dancing. Nothing makes any sense and not in a good way. In conclusion this is 1/100000 of the things wrong with two of the episodes.

My daughter, and both of her parents, have watched this show all the way through multiple times. The stories are intelligent and likable enough that it doesn't bother us having to watch the same episodes again and again. Sofia is sweet and kind and is a great little role model for our daughter. The show teaches generally accepted and important lessons about forgiveness, looking out for others, being kind, helpful, and humble. The songs are well written, creative and catchy. Each episode is cute and full of imagination. It's neat how they incorporate famous Disney princesses into the stories. I have a feeling my daughter will be watching this show for years to come.

I was surprised watching this for the first time with the level of depth that this show goes to, not only in creating lovable and memorable characters but a world that we all would want to drift away to in our dreamy fantasies.
Sofia is an adorable new princess in crown in the Kingdom of Enchancia after her mother marries the King and like any new princess she's going to need help. Her magical amulet calls upon many Disney Princesses to help this young Princess in training during her time of need. Through the help of these Princesses and many others, Sofia and her companions will learn valuable life lessons on friendship, kindness, honesty, family and teamwork. All the while exploring a rich and well thought out world that gradually expands with each season.
Sofia the First is exciting and full of episodes that constantly expand on existing characters and frequently adds new exciting locations like kingdoms and unique lands to explore alongside Sofia.
It's worst pitfall is brought about by the occasional episode that isn't as exciting or has a predictable plot, but in saying that with any series that is bound to be the case. So, if you can look past that then buckle in because it's one fantastical ride!
Overall this is a series that I absolutely love and would recommend to anyone even an adult. If you are willing to look past the "target audience" and love Princesses I know you'll absolutely fall in love with Sofia the First.

This cartoon tells children what a real princess is. The real princess is as brave, sincere and innovative as Sophia. It can even be said that as long as they have these princess traits, every girl is a princess.Sophia's songs are also great, meaningful lyrics, lively tunes, I junior high school when a composition quoted a few lyrics, for the article a lot of color.Love you😘
She so fine and pretty and a real Disney Princess
She was a cute girl. The songs were absolutely stunning! Every single one of them! Sofia teaches children a different good message each episode in a fun way. She is capable of doing so many magical things in this magical kingdom. She faced countless villains in all different sizes and forms, yet she stands strong. And, did I mention the songs? They're so catchy! I've listened to some of the songs over and over again a couple years ago, and I still remember all the lyrics! All the voices and music are very well composed. Sofia The First so cute.

It's very clear as day why Disney greenlit Sofia The First as soon as they heard the pitch. A show about a young girl learning to be a princess AND she gets to be friends with other Disney Princesses?! It would've been foolish not to pick it up in favor of something weaker. This show would not only be great for the young girls watching but also for parents who would want to dress their daughters up as Sofia, like Cinderella, Ariel and Jasmine before her. Watching the show and pilot movie in full though, all that hype surrounding it was all for not! Instead of being anywhere near the leagues of Disney Princesses of old, Sofia The First is more in the ballpark of Karma's World, Vampirina, and Fancy Nancy in terms of quality. From the awful writing to the cringy lyrics, this show doesn't even last 2 seconds before tripping over itself.
Created by Craig Gerber, Sofia The First's first issue is in the backstory. Basically, her Mom, a shoe cobbler, falls in love with the king, they get married and coronated into royalty. That sentence sounds like a really interesting story that could've tackled the struggles of widowed parents, the effects it has on the children, and how it's not too late to fall in love again. Wanna know how much time Sofia The First gives this very interesting and potentially emotional plot? 3 FREAKING MINUTES! That backstory is zoomed passed at Mach 6 speed before the title drops in the pilot movie with the rest being a generic and repetitive story of Sofia adjusting to palace life! If you think it gets better in the main series, think again! Each episode has the same problem of forced and unnatural conflict that is dragged out to try and reach 22 minutes. Episodes like The Big Sleepover, A Royal Mess, and Cedric's Apprentice should've been 11 minutes top with how simple their plots out and how easy they can be solved. The show also has some mediocre world building as Encantcia is a very generic kingdom with nothing that makes it stand out from other much more interesting kingdoms. Where's the rich history? Why are the citizens just mindless sheep? Why would I want to come here instead of Agrabah, Atlantis, or Atlantica? What really makes this show frustrating to sit through is the handling of its messages. I'm all for teaching young children to not judge others before you get to know them, that it's never okay to lie, and that if you want others to be your friends to just be yourself. The problem with Sofia The First is that it drags these messages into the ground with its awful pacing and incompetent characters. This show's never once heard of the concept less is more, which is a problem because kids hate being bored when watching a show that takes forever to get to the point.
The characters don't offer much outside of their one archetype, and that's a major problem if you want young children to say they're their favorite characters. Starting with our eponymous princess, Sofia is a normal girl who becomes a princess overnight...and that's it. Yeah, she can talk to animals with her amulet, and she wants to do the right thing; the problem is she's really irresponsible, selfish, and ignorant about it. Every episode has her learn a lesson she should've figured out sooner and ends with her getting what she wants, even though it never feels earned. No one else is much better as they're all defined by their one characteristic. James is the typical mischievous boy, Clover is a glutinous rabbit, Baileywick is the obedient steward, King Rowland is the typical stoic king, Miranda is the sweet mother that's more of a tool for Sofia, and Vivian's character begins and ends with her being shy. There's also Cedric, the royal sorcerer who wants to take Sofia's amulet to take over the kingdom to make up for the fact that he's nothing but a poor man's Jafar. Then there's Amber, Sofia and James' spoiled brat of a sister. Amber is very much another prime example of a spoiled little twerp who no one should take seriously. She's rude, she's selfish, she arrogant, she's envious of Sofia, and she's narcissistic. The worst part about her? Her brother and father act NOTHING like her! They're not well written characters, but the fact that they're nice and she's as nasty as a mule mud pie leads me to believe she's adopted or from a previous marriage! She's easily the worst character in the show as well as one of the worst characters in Disney history!
The one genuine compliment I'll give this show is that the voice acting is really good. Sam Riegel once again shines as an excellent voice director and is able to bring out the best performances from the actors, despite lackluster material. Ariel Winter sounded very sweet and chipper as Sofia, not to mention she's got really good singing chops. Was very surprised to hear Steven Universe himself, Zach Callison, as James. He made him sound very playful and lively, much like his more famous role. Darcy Rose Byrnes did a superb job making Amber sound snobbish and has a really good singing voice. Sabrina Carpenter sounded sweet and innocent as Vivian, while also having a very energetic singing voice. Tim Gunn does a very good job making Baileywick sound well spoken and loyal. Sara Ramirez sounded very sweet and motherly as Miranda. Major props to the veteran voice actions for bringing their A game to their respective characters. Travis Willingham as the stoic King Rowland, Jess Harnell as the conniving Cedric and Wayne Bradey as the comic relief Clover. Even though their characters aren't anything to write home about, the actors did a very good job bringing them to life.
Visually, it's got absolutely stunning designs and backgrounds...on top of some clunky character animation. As expected from Disney, the characters have a very appealing and expressive designs with big eyes, round heads, and unique hairstyles. They also go all out in the attires with vibrant dresses, classy suits, and even some sharp casual clothes. The characters also have an illustrated coating to their character models to give them that classic old school Disney animation look. The backgrounds are also very well drawn and expansive with beautiful use of watercolors, shading and contrast. The big issue with the visuals though is the actual character animation. Despite having dazzling aesthetics, the characters look like plastic dolls come to life when in motion. They don't have a clear sense of mass, their hair and clothes barely bob when they movie, and their facial expressions are restricted to their character models. This is especially the case during the song and dance numbers where, try as they might, it just comes off like the characters are dancing in a pool of pudding.
I wish I could say at least the songs are catchy, but oh brother of Moses are these songs Cringe with a capital C! Production-wise, they make good use of their instruments and melody to have an upbeat jazz inspired vibe to them. The actors also have great singing chops and do excellent work hitting those long notes. Where they all fall apart, though, is in the lyrics. The lyrics have such amateurish structures, bad wording and forced rhyming. Perfect Slumber Party, Cedric The Great, and Blue Ribbon Bunny are the most egregious cases. Listen to verses like "At a perfect slumber party, we don't snort and we don't squeal," or "and everyone who teased me will be at my command!" or even "He's a blue ribbon bunny and I'm all the rage" and tell me they making you want to start dancing instead of gagging!
This princess isn't even worth saving from a fire breathing turtle monster. Sofia The First is another awful misfire from the Mouse House's television division. The writing is terrible, the characters are one note, the animation is clunky, the messages are redundant, and the songs have absolutely cringe lyrics. I will give credit to the spot on voice acting and dazzling aesthetics, but those surface level compliments don't make this show worth watching. If you want a cartoon about being a princess for young girls, watch Cinderella 2: Dreams Come True. It does a much better job showcasing what it means to be a princess and is far more memorable than this royal mess -.-

I'm so in love with this series, it's perfect for children who love their Disney princesses and believe in all magical beings. Amazing talent from all that's in this show. Broadway meets Disney. That's all I can say.

Discovering this show has been such a fun and entertaining experience for our entire family - but most importantly for our now 4 year old daughter who loves singing and playing music. The show's episode by episode plot lines are well written and adventurous with positive lessons for kids along the way. The songwriting and music is pure class - some of the best in the Disney catalogue. If your family loves musicals and or theatre you will adore this show and find yourselves singing and listening to the playlist even when you aren't watching the show itself. As the main character and her friends and siblings age - the plot lines deepen a bit to reflect it. The finale was a great way to end the series.
