I went into this not knowing much except the filmmakers are from my hometown of Phoenix, AZ. The music, cast, and crew are all pretty much locals. While the film is low budget and the acting could be a little better this wasn't a bad experience. In fact, I thought it was funny thanks to its leading man Rob Kazi, an up and coming comedian who we will likely be seeing more of. Kazi is funny, outrageous, and can actually carry a movie. Plus there's lots of beautiful scenery in and around the Phoenix metro area. Beautiful sunsets and landscaping with an R and B soundtrack that rivals anything out there today. The soundtrack is made up of local artists and I got to say I wanna buy it.
So what's the movie about? Where Hitch was a comedy of Will smith hooking folks up, unhitch is where for a fee, unhappy men can get their relationships broken up. One client says his wife needs to leave him otherwise she gets everything in the divorce, so yes, I can see where there's a need for these services. Along the way unhitch king realizes there's more to life then internet fame. It's okay to chase your dreams but dreams are nothing without someone to share them with.
I found the movie likeable and heartwarming. A definite recommendation.
