This project reunites Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, who first co-starred in film in 2001's "Y tu mamá también," and have since collaborated on other movies like "Rudo y Cursi" and "Casa de mi padre," as well as having a joint production company.
This is the first Spanish language TV show in Hulu.
Digo Luna and Gael García Bernal are childhood friends since birth. Growing up together, surrounded by theater and film.
Diego Luna and Gael García Bernal came up with the original idea of the show while in Berlin. In their own words, during a hangover while eating kebab. They were both attending the Berlin Film Festival.
Diego Luna used prosthetics for six months to play his character in the show, Andy Luján. The process took about two hours every morning, what included prosthetics, a wig, tan paint, and a fake "gigantic" ass. Luna mentioned on a interview that the hardest part was the forty-five minutes it took to remove everything at the end of each day.
