Featured review
Granted, only the pilot's out, but as a long-time fan of the excellent Taynikma book series, I find there's a lot to like here.
Voice acting was good, the artwork is simply beautiful.
The premise of this series is allegedly going to be about a group of youngsters, one from each clan, who travel to the capital, somewhat- ridiculously-named Klanopolis, to compete in a tournament which serves to determine the next generation of Taytans and the Champion of the Taytans. All this despite the fact that they're not even the chosen representatives of their respective clans.
Sounds like it's going to be good fun to me.
Now, there is this minor problem, which is that the animation style is just... weird.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it, but I just don't know what to make of it: It's not enough movement to call it a motion comic, it really looks like an animated comic book is what they're going for here.
It'll just take some time to get used to, is what I'm saying
It's an interesting idea, and holds on to Taynikma's tradition of finding new ways to tell a story.
8/10
