Sofia Carson is becoming a Netflix star. After being brilliant in 2024's thriller, Carry-On, she will now turn lead in a new Netflix movie called The Life List. The story revolves around a woman who is set on a journey by her mother to re-access her life. The twist is that Carson's character (Alex Rose) is given a new DVD each time she goes about completing tasks on her bucket list.
Mind you, at least some of the bucket list was created when Alex was a child, so some of what she has to do might be something she would never do as an adult. The list includes participating in an open mic night, playing basketball in a one-on-one game, and teaching at a women's shelter. The truth is that the film is not a series of episodes of Alex working her way down the list.

Sofia Carson in The Life List – Picture: Netflix
In March 2024, Netflix confirmed The Life List, a new romantic comedy starring Sofia Carson. The movie is due out on Netflix soon, so we’re here with everything known about it, including the full cast, production updates, plot details, and more on its release date, which is now set for March 28th.
Adam Brooks is on board to both write and direct the project. The Canadian screenwriter and director is no stranger to the romantic comedy space, having written or directed (or both) titles like Definitely, Maybe, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, plus the Netflix Original movie Nappily Ever After, released in 2018.
This isn’t the first time The Lift List has been attempted to be brought to the big screen. Ahead of the book’s release in 2013, Fox 2000 optioned the film rights for the novel, with Hutch Parker set to produce.

2025 is going to be great for Netflix. Sure, we have not seen all the streamer is going to gift us, but let's presume that things will be terrific. Netflix has never (mostly) let us down.
Some people complain there are too many foreign titles on the streamer. This seems...well, odd. Netflix is a global company and foreign films and shows can be just as good as the English-language ones.
Still, most of the films below should make all folks happy. They should be excellent adds to Netflix's already impressive catalog. Just don't hate us if we get one of them wrong.
Seven must-see films (and one to skip) coming to Netflix in 2025Happy Gilmore 2 (To be determined)
Watch! Whatever the premise, we know that Adam Sandler's character is going to play some golf, and hilarity will commence. The original film was funny fluff, and this one might be as well.

While promoting her new Netflix movie, Carry-On, Sofia Carson addresses the possibility of a sequel to one of Netflix's most talked-about romantic dramas of 2022. Following her breakthrough role in Disney's Descendants movies and the viral success of her Netflix romance, Carson is becoming a prominent figure in the entertainment world. The multi-talented actor, known for her work as both a performer and a producer, is continuing to expand her career with dynamic new projects.
Carson's latest venture is her role as Nora in Netflix's new action-thriller, Carry-On, starring alongside Taron Egerton and Jason Bateman. Carson will also star in two upcoming Netflix projects: The Life List, based on the book of the same name by Lori Nelson Spielman, and My Oxford Year, also based on a novel of the same name by Julia Whelan. She also has a non-Netflix movie in the works, Last Night at The Lobster, directed by Wagner Moura.

The Christmas movie sensation of 2024 isn't "Red One," nor is it any of the other non-Christmasy holiday releases like "Wicked," "Gladiator II" or "Moana 2." Okay, it might be "Hot Frosty." But if it's not "Hot Frosty," it's most assuredly Jaume Collet-Serra's crackerjack action-thriller "Carry-On." Currently streaming on Netflix, "Carry-On" is an unabashed B-movie -- Collet-Serra's speciality dating back to programmers like "House of Wax" and "Orphan" -- that harkens back to the '80s and '90s era of tightly paced and constructed action flicks like "Die Hard," "Under Siege," and "Speed." These films weren't mega-budget blowouts, but they did have studio-level production value. There were no corners being cut, and no dodgy CGI; you always had the sense that you were watching a big movie made with professional pride. And best of all, you didn't have to plunge into a series of books to get acquainted with the films' larger mythology.
