I have not had the blessing to see a movie like this, Spanish or not ( this one has English subtitles available) for a long, long time. The landscapes and photography are amazing, the actors and actresses so natural, engaged and charismatic, and the plot is Universal..." Where the tracks end", was inspired by real events in Mexico in the old 60's, when train wagons were used as schools in some of the poorest rural areas of the country, although the characters and situations in the movie are fiction. The movie talks about the innocence of the first Love, Family, Life twists (sometimes sad, sometimes happy), friendship (yes, including the doggie ones), poverty and injustice, strength and the intrinsec Power of Reading and education... and a wonderful, brave, kind but strict rural Teacher, that will touch and transform lives, and will bring Hope and resilience to her students with all of her heart, specially to the new kid in the village, Ikal, who has to move a lot with his Dad and Mum, because his Dad has a job as a rail track worker, and whose Mum has a life-condition that does not let her work for the sake of her humble family. Even the beloved teacher, Maestra Georgina, has her own secret pain that will empower her, also, to eventually help Ikal's to change his Life forever... Please enjoy it with your family, and make sure that have some popcorn and a box of Kleenex beside you!
