At one time, Watcher director Chloe Okuno was attached to direct the fourth entry in Netflix’s R.L. Stine-inspired Fear Street franchise – but while Fear Street: Prom Queen has made its way through production without her involvement (the movie ended up being directed by Matthew Palmer), Okuno has been busy getting another genre project set up. One that will reunite her with Watcher star Maika Monroe. This one is called Brides, and Deadline reports that it’s currently in pre-production, aiming to start filming in the Spring of 2025.

Stephen Schwartz's musical "Wicked" celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2023. An even greater milestone is on the horizon; "Part One" of the long-awaited film adaptation arrives in 2024. Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film retells the story of the musical, itself a retelling of prior tales. It's about the doomed friendship between two witches, Glinda (the future Good Witch of the South) and the green-skinned Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West.

Almost exactly one year ago today, it was announced that genre regular Maika Monroe would be re-teaming with Dan Berk and Robert Olsen, the writing / directing duo that was behind the 2019 film Villains (watch it Here), for a sci-fi thriller called Significant Other. Now a trailer for Significant Other has arrived online, and along with that comes the news that the film is going to be released through the Paramount Plus streaming service on October 7th.
