This is not the worst reality dating show that I've seen however the levels of cringe are still pretty high.
I just can't get over how desperate most these women seem to be. A week in and most of the girls haven't so much as kissed their prospective cowboys but they are straight up losing their minds and making complete fools out of themselves whenever their cowboy so much as talks to one of the other women.
Like, you willingly went on a show where you knew you would be dating a man who would be dating multiple other women. So why are these women acting like they had no idea it would be like this?
Then you have the cowboys themselves who I have to admit so far all seem to be pretty nice guys aside from maybe one but they also seem to be fairly clueless and a week in its really no wonder they are all single. Some of the women though are giving me major Fatal Attraction vibes and others are obviously just there because they weren't attractive enough to get on The Bachelor and this was their only shot to be on TV.

I watch a lot of reality shows like The Bachelor or Love is Blind. This show is different, but not any better. The dates are lame, it moves slow. Shoveling hay or castrating bulls is not my idea of a date. Obviously these are thrown in there for "farm interaction", but it's not very interesting to watch. Give me a helicopter ride to a private beach anyday, lol.
There are too many farmers and, accordingly, there is very small snippets of any kind of connection between them and all the women, 5 episodes in.
Also, the Narrator is so very annoying.
"And, over in Oklahoma, Landon and his 4 remaining women are going on a picnic!!"
Obviously, as the viewer, we can see "the action", and we don't need someone (the Narrator) pointing it out. The Narrator should only be there during eliminations.

This reality dating show has similarities to "The Bachelor" and other titles in the genre, but there are four bachelors---all farmers. And the five women chosen by each farmer get to live on the farm for the weeks that the series runs. These women are more citified (to use a rural term) but think they are amenable to the farm life.
Of course farm life is not easy, so the women get to try their hands at mucking stalls, feeding cattle, and any of the myriad of tasks that farmers do routinely. Some of the reactions are comical, but the women really try.
There is also time for some group dating and one-on-one dating, when they can explore their compatibilities and ask more personal questions. Or two-step.
Unlike some other shows, everyone gets along remarkably well. No cat fights or backstabbing. That will make the show too tame for some viewers. But I find it mildly entertaining.

I had hoped the US version would be different than season 10 of the Australian series. The prior seasons on the Australian version were very good.
In prior seasons they picked four women to start with and throughout the series they received a message telling them they had to send one women home. I don't think they should have the option to send one home or not. I feel it is giving some women false hope. They came there, looking for love as well, not to be a group of friends following a farmer around.
They didn't have special one on ones every week. They can have one on ones while they are working on the farm. They don't need to wait for that one special date. They should know after a couple weeks if there's a spark or not.
Also, I would love to see more of the work done on the farm. That gives a real indication if they will be able to handle life on the farm. Maybe show them doing jobs by themselves.
I did NOT like all the drama between all the women especially at group events. I can get this on so many of the other reality shows that I don't even consider watching.
However, I really do like the series.

The Littlest Hobo (season 3, episode 13, 1982): Mail Order Bride with Simon Oakland and Barbara Gordon. I do not have TV or cable, so I cannot watch current programming. The commercials for Farmer Wants A Wife I see on online movie sites remind me of this show. This episode is currently available online. I have always remembered the scene in which Barbara Gordon's character makes a picnic lunch for Simon Oakland's character with the little sandwiches. It would be interesting to compare the two shows. I wonder if the creators of Farmer Wants A Wife knew of this Mail Order Bride show and decided to make a new expanded version of it.
I like it but something doesn't add up with this show. There are 4 women left for each farmer and all of them including the farmer keep making remarks about a lack of talking and 1 on 1 time after 3 weeks. How could that be? Are the women just sitting in the house all day while the farmer works. I don't think they are actually living together 24/7. I think the women are in a hotel most of the time and spend limited time with the farmers, which would explain the comments from everyone involved. Show is most likely a fraud but I can't find proof or testimony on the internet either way. Anyone know?

32 city girls who would never live on a farm in their lives, and who aren't even close to being on The Bachelor or other dating shows. They are all there to be seen on TV, in the hopes of getting on other shows. Four Farmers who know little to nothing about dating and are clumsy around girls, as well as very desperate. Talk about a recipe for failure! I can't imagine anyone thinking this a good show in any way. These guys can barely carry on a conversation with women, and spend half their time whining to the producer about how bad they are to be on the show. Sorry guys, but ranchers and cowboys are not going to please girls from Miami, New York, Orlando, etc. Don't waste your time!
I know, I know everyone see's the title and thinks another version of the Bachelor or Love Island, but it's not. This show has been running for many seasons in Australia now and has 10 successful relationships which are still running strong.
Of course it's about entertainment and some parts can be a bit hard to watch but this show has a real heart, and it is actually trying to build relationships. It's an alternative to the swipe left or right dating scene that's sadly taken over our modern world.
Give it a chance, you might enjoy it, and if you get hooked on the US version you might want to take a peek at the Aussie one :)

One of these women has the largest nose might as well be Cyrano de Bergerac. Sorry but I'm being a bit critical but that's the way it is and when you see people on TV that's your prerogative to assess them. So guess which woman it is? Haha. And I have to put a lot more words in here so I think she's the one with long dark hair and is going to be with the guy on a farm and her nose is plainly very noticeable at the end and it doesn't matter what you say it's true and so It's my prerogative to point that out and I think it's sort of interesting that I don't find it offensive but very noticeable!

First of all these guys have some very nice horses!! Love watching this show so much better than bachelor and bachelorette!! Much more realistic not all the producer editing and women just trying to get media attention!! The guys are good ole country boys which I love and very sweet. One might be kind of a player but the other 3 seem to be really set in their goal of finding love. I think this show they might actually find true love. Not all the drama that the have on the bachelor which I won't watch anymore. These guys are taking their time and being a lot more realistic in this show. They value the girls feelings a lot more.

It's absolutely stupid to have only boring city girls on here. We need more black, more single moms, more smart, less city, more confident, more diversity!!!!
Also more farmers that don't seem rude like the divorced one. Feels like he came on the show for free labors and that was about it.
Rooting for Landon and the single mom though.
They should do next season (if they even make it to another season) with a women(s) seeking a farmer. Almost like bachelor and bachelorette kind of style. That would be better to switch it around and make the guys look more superior rather the women made to look masculine fighting for a man.

I looked forward to watching this show every year. Not watching again.
It has become worse than love island, married at first sight.
This year it went beyond uncomfortable.
Farmers carrying on with 5 different women. In bath tubs, covered in paint kissing everyone Going nude, Who would want to marry Any of these sleazey guys. And the women had no shame they were on the wrong show.
We expected this for married at fist sight but at least it's one on one.
This is not a family show. They need to go back to the farm. No wonder they are on their own.
Only one farmer had the right idea find your girl and get off the show early with his new love.
It would be hard to marry a farmer after watching some of these tv images and think you would have a happy life.
Some ladies to good for this show it is degrading.

As 69-year-old man this is not a show I thought I would watch as I'm not a fan of The Bachelor or any of those other reality shows. But I've always loved animals Farms cows fishing hunting as I grew up in Upstate New York! This is unique, in the fact that I have not seen a show that's more down to earth and real as this show turned out to be. These poor farmers who have a completely different lifestyle have to judge a bunch of women all of which are smart, hot, yearning to find love and figure out a way to to select the woman they want to spend their life with. If you think it's stupid look in the mirror. I thoroughly enjoyed this show and I think you will too even though you may think you won't!

I've watched this show for years, but listening to these adult men use "the process" as an excuse to go flower to flower, and string these women on, and then be huffy about it...really, is it 1795? This is easily the worst season I have ever seen. These women have their own careers. I am repelled. I am sorry. Whatever little chica o chico told you this was a good idea was wrong. There are plenty of people in this country who who would like to watch a country lovestory, but you are RUINING it with these entitled men who apparently think they can string several women along before dumping them. This is exactly what those women were trying to escape in the city.

I love this show because its authentic and real! Not a ton of staged moments like the bachelor. You're watching the relationships really unfold, and its genuine men with character truly looking for a wife. It's sweet and wholesome (which is probably why some don't like it). I also love it because it's something I can watch with my kids :) I do think it could use a bit more structure...like some more forced eliminations throughout the show and more one on time together. The forced eliminations would prevent the men from having 4 women at the end and allow them more time with the front runners. More one in one time would allow them to connect more deeply especially for the men that have a hard time being vulnerable. But all in all it's lovely show!

I watched Season 1, Episodes 1 &11 (first & last episodes) On Demand of Farmer Wants a Wife. Having grown up in a city surrounded by small farms and stables, I often visited friends on their rustic properties (picking fresh grown corn, beans, etc. In the great outdoors) plus horseback riding on densely wooded trails so I dressed to protect myself from the elements: deer flies, rough hides, sun, rain, mud, muck, dander, dampness, gloves, etc. In "Farmer Wants a Wife", clueless women arrived alluringly exposed, coifed, manicured and dressed for limousines and city dating rather than prepared for the rugged outdoors in pants, boots, long sleeves, neck scarves, hats. Second, the "farmers" are what I'd term RANCHERS as they don't raise crops as farmers do but instead own large livestock (cows, bulls, pigs, etc.). If I were meeting these men, I'd expect them TO TAKE OFF THEIR HATS in my presence. They were all nicely dressed but appeared to be hiding from the women rather than attempting to interact with them like gentlemen, IN A COURTEOUS MANNER. Are they shy or sneaky? Third, I'd be freaked spending time with a guy I don't know on a spread 3 miles from the nearest neighbor. The show is geared for well-established males, not for single women being expected to give up their city lives and careers.

My husband and I love this show! All the farmers and most of the ladies are genuinely good people. Farmers are salt of the earth, and we have great respect for them. The relationships in the show are authentic and there isn't the same vibe that Bachelor and Bachelorette have (young people that just want to be on tv and get a social media following). Farmer Wants a Wife is wholesome and enjoyable. I look forward to finding out who the farmers choose to continue dating, and I hope it works out for them. I hope FOX will continue airing future seasons. A+ for Farmer Wants a Wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This show is so exciting because it's totally different than what's currently on tv. It's city girl meets farm life, and getting out of both of their comfort zones to see if two completely opposite people can find love. This is different than most shows as both the farmer and the woman have to pick each other! It's authentic, and the girls Fox picked are not all super "social" famous or well known. They picked unique, original, beautiful women who truly want to find love and have had difficulties with dating in their current cities. All contestants have different backgrounds and I like that even the farmers have different backgrounds and live in different states, and handle different kinds of livestock or farming. This show has been wildly popular all over the world, and I'm so excited they finally brought it to the USA!
Much more genuine than the highly scripted dating shows. These are real farmers so they understandably are not choosing potential wives who are doctors and lawyers. Most of the women who would thrive on The Bachelor just fall on their faces here because they are game players who only want to be on TV.
The women who tend to do well on this show are genuine, caring women who want to help their future husband and have children. That doesn't fit the progressive narrative so you'll see alot of bashing the show from people who can't accept that alot of women (and men like me) still want a life focused on family and country.
Great show! I look forward to watching it every week, and it doesn't leave me feeling like the world is going down the tubes like most modern TV shows.
