After the film's critical and financial failure, co-producer Dhananjeyan accused two fandoms and two political parties of spreading negativity about the film. While not naming anyone, he claimed that Suriya's comments about NEET and education policies apparently didn't sit well with the two political parties, due to which they targeted the film and the actor.
A section of the audience criticized the film's sound editing, calling it "too loud" at times. Addressing these concerns, the film's producer K.E. Gnanavelraja spoke to all the exhibitors and requested them to reduce the volume by two points to nullify the negative feedback related to loudness.
The film was originally set to release on October 10, 2024, but was postponed so as to not clash with the Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan (2024). Interestingly, the title of this film is loosely borrowed from another Rajinikanth film, the 1984 Bollywood release Gangvaa (1984).
