The only movie that was a hit for Siva is Siruthai and this guy has been running the world with just one movie and all the other movies are disaster and I don't know why actors are still accepting movies from him after making such a nonsensical movies..

I hope after seeing this movie and other flop movies of him the producer should stop giving money to this guy,

He's wasting money and shaming Tamilnadu, after this movie, many other state people started mocking tamil industry that tamilians cannot make great movies and I hope other directors seeing this should learn from him how to not take movies..

International standard making, top-notch technicality, that's nothing short of an Apocalypto, with insane performances from Suriya and Bobby.

Story is absolutely relatable, great writing and detailing.

Just ignore all targeted negativity and catch it in 3D, ofcourse with earbuds/cotton 🙂. It's loud, crazily loud, but if you love action, outrageous action, then this is the movie for you.

For sure a blockbuster making and a re-watch for me, already waiting for Kanguva II.

A movie which lost sight of its intention. No matter how good the cinematography, acting, action, graphics... An overdose of it is definitely not enjoyable. Do these directors watch the movie from the point of view of an audience... We can't sit for 2.5 hours and watch people kill each other in a variety of ways. I wish they had focused on having a proper story also. This is not a good direction that our movies are heading towards... Violence...aggression.. revenge.. how is that enjoyable. There's no relief between the violent scenes. Too much screaming, graphic violence. This movie is not a pleasant watch for sure.

Big surprise to all Suriya fans. Suriya acting was stunning and he played the both roles well. Nice movie. Nowadays movies are like that. Too much of Negative critics are showing it as a low rated movie.. but like that of showing too much negativity. Visual effects and sound effects are superb..its not at all irritating as negative comments were posted. Nice songs too. May be few flaws in the movie.. that too is acceptable.. Everyone can watch the movie with their family... worth to spend your time to watch this movie..... a historical movie and I am eagerly waiting for the part 2... Highly recommend to watch...

Kanguva

A ruthless and raging race for power and wealth among two distinct civilizations ageing centuries.

The story in nutshell revolves around a valour warrior and a boy who lived in the 10th century and their intertwined connection they have with two identical individuals in the 21st century.

Shiva has rendered the story in a way connecting the two generations/civilizations that are ages apart but slipped in the effort to set a basic background for the story convincingly linking them which makes the audience lethargic.

Shiva has precisely portrayed the ancient civilization part with accurate detailing of the characters and their lineages. The movie brilliantly portrays promise over blood,ruthless revenge,betrayal,violence,brotherhood through eventful moments in the story.

Shiva deserves appreciation for brilliantly portraying the ancient civilization part which truly stands out in the story.

Suriya's performance as Kanguva the warrior was striking in the action sequences. Disha Patani's character and the duo song in the early 10 minutes for background formation of Suriya's character is a total misfit. Bobby Deol as Udhiran was absolutely dashing. Karthi's intro was stunning and his cameo performance left an impact and is a cliffhanger for further progress of the story. Good performances by Bose Venkat,Avinash,Yogi Babu,Harish Uthaman,Premkumar,Vatsan Chakravarthy & Karuna.

Sri Devi Prasad's music & BGM's in the action sequences were absolutely a treat with the visual extravaganza. Special appreciation to Nishad Yusuf(late) for his contribution to the movie. Hats off to Vetri Palanisamy,Milan for their efforts in setting the ancient era and brilliantly capturing the visuals. The action directors,CG/VFX team & colorist also deserves appreciation.

Kanguva is a decent attempt by Shiva leaving behind the monotonous factor which will hopefully be answered in the sequel.

Kanguva is a historically overacted and confusing story, and star minus with scary and over makeup and larger then life action seens make you believe that you are wasting your time, all cast and crew are fail to believe us in their story. Above all they are started with roman emperors attack on their places with 25k solider but they are fighting with each other!!! What about the 25k solider who are coming to India to rule, who made them go back?? Why they are disappear? Editing is also very poor you just can't understand what is going on, no evidence of motive or reson why they boy is looking to meet Surya!!!

As a Suriya fan , it's hard to accept Kanguva after 2.8 years of wait . This movie neither offers entertainment nor gives something grandeur. All the efforts are wasted . Siva is totally outdated and his ideas are crap. Suriya should invest his time with some young directors . Painful and torturous watch for a true fans. Never felt like this for any Suriya movies. Forgettable experience and have to wait for Karthik Subbraj movie(KS will not disappoint for sure). Siva should stay away from Kollywood instead of wasting producer's money and star's potential .Highly disappointed , never expected such outcome.

Tough time for S fans , we have to wait for another good movie. Till then can watch Soorarai Pottru , Jai Bhim , Vaaranam Ayiram range movies . Suriya can wait and do Vaadivaasal , even if it takes 3 years it will have a monstrous box office run.

Disheartening to see Surya has failed in this film in all aspects, he has portrayed backward people wrongly with a discriminated mindset. He is yielding it now. The screenplay, music, performance are below par and only positive is VFX work. The songs are average, the way sound engineering work done is pathetic. People coming out with headache and not worth spending the money for this film.

As Jothika always says in public, people can spend money for poor children education instead of wasting money for these kind of movies which are irritating in nature and worst. The build up given by the crew also added fuel to the public mindset.

Suriya's performance, best stunning visuals, and a few standout moments with DSP's music are the film's main highlights. The fight sequences are impressive. While the first half is average, the second half picks up with a decent pace. However, the biggest drawback lies in the writing, which lacks emotional depth, making it harder to connect with the story and characters. The VFX could have been improved, and some of the most anticipated moments fell flat. Despite these flaws, the movie delivers a visually grand theatrical experience.

Siva and team might have done a great job by improving the writing, but the Suriya has stole the movie and it will become a good movie in his career and at climax the cameo was awesome, and it gives the boosts for the second part.

10 mins into the movie, the thought of walking out of the theatre was all that was on my mind. The character 'Francis', is one of, if not the most cringiest characters that I ever had the displeasure of watching on a screen. Next up, why was Disha Pattani in the movie? Female lead characters being reduced into a flower pot is not something that is uncommon, but this? This is truly something else. Utterly irrelevant and an unnecessary role played by the actress that is forced into the script to attract a certain section of the audience, I assume?

I wanted to rate the movie a 1 star, until....the clock turned back a 1000 years and the character 'kanguva' showed up on the screen. Boy, the movie turned into a rollercoaster. Thrilling visuals, action, gore, it was game on. I enjoyed the period part of the movie throughly. And all the complaints about the character being loud all the time? Well, it's war. Don't really see quiet and peaceful war, do we? Bobby Deol played his part very well and his screen presence was something to behold. And the cherry on the top? Karthi's cameo. Perfectly set the stage for a second part, if the producers and the directors choose to go that route, which I hope they do. Because I'll be watching for sure.

The image of the ideal actor Suriya is the award winner actor and the movie Kangua does not have any proper script.looks like a typical thriller and adventurous serial. The worst movie i saw till date. Kanguva is the most hyped movie of the yea plus Surya returns to big screens after many years. Though lot of expectations the movie did not live up to the hype.

The major positive of the movie was the visuals. Never seen a Tamil movie with such fantastic visuals. Surya's acting was good. Kanguva introduction created goosebumps and the episode that adds to his into was well made.

The writing is the big let down as the main concept of the movie was reincarnation. Lot of movies has been done & dusted with this concept like magadhera, 7am arivu, Anegan & Shyam singha Roy etc. The first 20 minutes tested our patience and the comedy sequences din't worked out. There were lot of lengthy fight sequences in the movie which adds no excitement to the story. The director should have focused on periodic movie like (300, Bahubali, PS etc) but tried to blend present & past which was a very bad idea. The emotional parts also dint worked out as the lead did not do anything wrong to have the guilty and ask for forgiveness from his adopted kid. The Romans who planned to capture the 5 islands disappeared all of a sudden. The editing was very bad as there was no connection between each episode. The lead character tribe goes to forest and encounters a fight and same thing continues again for another fight which feels repetitive. DSP music in few places was good and some scenes were let down. The climax fight with 1 vs 500 was unconvincing. Too much of sentimental stuffs in a periodic action movie looks cringe. Siva should start collaborating with writers for upcoming movies and focus only on direction which he does well.

I watched the film expecting it to have no interesting storyline, compelling characters, or impactful dialogues. However, the film exceeded my expectations-in the worst way possible-with its ridiculous writing that tests your patience every minute.

The artists and technicians seem to have put in their best efforts, but despite all the hard work, the film fails to capture our attention due to its pathetic writing and extremely outdated storytelling by Siruthai Siva. How this director-with ideas that are lame (AF), stories that are lame (AF), writing that is lame (AF), and dialogues that are lame (AF)-manages to make high-budget movies just blows my mind.

However I figured out one unique skill of his that I genuinely admire: he manages to find the most unintelligent producer in the industry and sells them his unintelligent ideas!

Overall, the experience was like paying for great music but served with super annoying noise.

I feel incomplete movie coz no clue regarding next part it's quite disappointed me coz they have not revealed any story in part 1 very tiny story line but complete movie is based on heavy vfx, no need of heroine in this movie they choose her for only songs purpose I feel genuinely.

Kanguva is a most anticipated movie I also expected more in that movie but yesterday while I am seeing the movie totally I was disappointed. Total film length is 2 hrs 30 mins but it felt like 3 hrs and above very poor screenplay and story line is simple , everybody is shouting in the movie which makes us to get headache, Music and ost is also not up to the mark .

Positive : Art department , & Vfx team making wise kanguva is a strong. DOP is also good

Negative : No proper screenplay, story line , casting , music , sound design is the worst ears are paining, cameos doesn't work well.

If you want to experience this movie in theatre means go and watch for an entertainment but not to waste the money means watch it in OTT .
