    Had to turn it off halfway through!

    Arghhh! Sorry for anyone that likes this kinda thing, but to me it absolutely sucks ass! It's good visuals I guess, but that's about it, so far there is no real story, it takes real attention to even notice the little story parts, and I couldn't see myself enjoying this unless really stoned or on acid, then it might actually have carried a little interest for me. I was actually relieved when I sat on the remote controller and it switched off! I mean I quite liked the character of 'The Baker' theif, he reminded me of an Indian looking Johnny Depp but he didn't really do much to entertain me one bit... Sorry but this wasn't for me at all.

    Confusing and unwatchable

    I am all for the unusual but I only got 15 minutes into this before switching it off. Fortunately it was included for free in my Amazon Prime account.

    I haven't read the story, so I don't know how accurate the film is. The part I saw was sumptuous, very well filmed, at a gorgeous location. It was setting the scene with the characters, which I understand, but nothing really happened and this was all that I managed to get through before I got bored with it.

    I appreciate that the film is rated well, but there's no reviews here to explain why. It would be far better if people reviewed it to let others know.

      Lord Kelvin's estimate of the world being 100 million years old is presented as the discovery of its extreme age. This had been done decades earlier by geologists studying ancient rocks.

      Lord Kelvin tried to put a limit on the age of the earth, based on it still being hot inside. Geologists said it must be older, and were correct. The problem was resolved when it was realised that radioactive elements were helping to keep the Earth warm.
