Make no mistake this is an awful movie. Amateurly directed with bad performances and laughable effects. Yet I still watched all of it. Somehow this tale of foul mouthed baby doll demons in an old toy warehouse kept me interested. It all starts off with a flashback when the little turds were stopped and picks up in present day when some teens decide to ressurect them by accident. It's really silly and not impressive in any real way but it surprisingly passes the time.

A fun film to watch so long as you don't expect a lot going in. An admirable attempt at an independent horror film. The effects on the dolls are a bit cheesy and the cgi isn't the best but the practical gore effects look quite nice. Definitely worth a stream for a less serious halloween party. For anyone expecting a scary film this isn't it but sometimes you just want to watch some killer doll shenanigans

*sigh... Okay, a '6' is being EXTREMELY generous here. But... it was kind of funny and the writers were moderately clever (make sure you notice the license plates on the police car)
Very, VERY silly! I mean, really silly...
And yes, it was most definitely played for laughs. Make no mistake people. This is NOT one of your 'PUPPET MASTER' movies. Not even the bad ones, not even close... But, I am a complete sucker for killer doll/puppet/toys films. And FWIW, there are many, MANY others that are far worse, horribly done, poorly acted, truly insulting, and boring. Even though this is just about as low, low budget as you can possibly get, at least you can tell that they are indeed having some fun with this one. There are some snippets here and there that are really funny. Watch for when the boyfriend is miming behind his girlfriend as to what they are going to be doing later on. And, what was up with that WTF moment in that scene towards the end when the sheriff is giving a pep talk to the old black guy...??? I went back several times and I could not tell WHAT the hell happened there.
This is definitely a movie where several beers and a few good friends would really help... That is about as 'high' of a recommendation as I can give.

Following the traditional horror genre, this film did a really good job of combining comedy with action with horror. I saw it at a Comedy Film Festival and it was true to its location. Even though it was probably a C-budget movie at best, the production quality, direction, and acting were first rate. Many of those involved attended the showing, and it was interesting, for example, to see Andy Palmer, who plays nerdish, squeaky-voiced Melvin, come out and speak and show a quiet confident (and not squeaky-voiced) young man. And it was a surprise to see actor Chris Fender, who played crotchety, over-the-top, good-old-boy Sheriff Bart was really a polite young man the same age as Andy!
Standouts in acting were Chris Fender, Andy Palmer, and Boo Gay, a Houston local comedian. The special effects in terms of the dolls were understandably disappointing in this low-budget film, but the other special effects, especially the requisite fight scene, were really good. All in all, worth watching - and enjoying.

I absolutely hated this movie, which made me me love it even more!
This movie is so over the top, I don't know how anyone couldn't like it!
Blood and gore galore, an unlikely hero, bad acting, some truly horrible special effects, bad acting, this movie has it all!
I actually laughed out loud a number of times and actually wanted to see it through to the end!
Get the pizza and beer and call over your friends!
A must see!

"Doll Factory" is a simple, traditional story that has been a big part of indie horror since the early days of the subgenre's resurgence with the rise of film companies like Full Moon, and cult horror movies like Child's Play and "Dolls". They are fun, campy and easy to watch. This film is no exception. From the retro-inspired beginning right to the very end "Doll Factory" is just an entertaining ride into madness.
The characters are developed just enough to be interesting. The parts are played to the limit of camp theatre. The cast are fully committed and the fun they are having in this movie shows on screen. I easily felt, based on characters and story structure, "Doll Factory" could have been a Full Moon Horror production. At the least it has to be a love letter to Charles Band.
The puppetry is creative and the Dolls are demonic. There are elements of occultism that reminds me of the voodoo ritual in "Child's Play" and the black magic rite performed in "Dracula A.D. 1972. Then the whole killer doll rampage is total "Demonic Toys" B roll. The CGI is reasonably done and the practical effects are fun. Most of the horror elements are cool low-budget tricks that you expected in this type of movie.
Overall I really had fun watching "Doll Factory". It is cheesy and full of madness, all on a low-budget scale. The film will not please fans looking for high production levels or blockbuster effects. But if you are a indie horror fan that enjoys Full Moon horror movies and Charles Band then you will like this film too.

I love goofy horror B movies! This one was very well done. The effects were great, the acting was realistic, and I laughed my ass off the whole time! It's so over the top and wild the whole way through! You will not be bored. I'm definitely watching this one again. It has instantly become one of my favorites. It's so stupid, and I love it!!! My low expectations were blown entirely away. I can't believe how fun this was to watch. Don't hesitate. Just watch. It's totally worth it! Also, I love the design of the dolls. They're grotesque and cute and creepy and so little! And omg the scene with the stoners had me rolling!

Over the top fun, love this movie! Gory as hell. Good comedic performances all around. Like a lower budget Zombieland.
