The low rating was not a good sign, and if other recent low-budget viewings were anything to go by was worried that it would be one of those that bad or worse films. But there was the concept, while a very weird one it was intriguing. So watched 'Neron' anyway as part of one of my film and television quests (often completest).
Have seen worse films as part of my recent modest at best/low budget film quest definitely, but that is saying little. 'Neron' is still a terrible film in nearly every way. It is also one of those films that doesn't intrigue at all, offers very little new. The concept was not a derivative one as such, but the execution is and is also too conventional, extremely dull and bland, often confusing and seemed resistant to take any risks.
Two points in its favour is some atmosphere in the lighting and that parts of the first third show promise in providing some unsettlement and intrigue. Both are too far and between, any atmospheric lighting is wasted by most of it being drab or too dark, a too compact setting, haphazard editing and some photography that induces nausea. Meanwhile the film goes down south very quickly and doesn't recover.
Direction is at best pedestrian and this does affect the pacing, which is sluggish throughout, and the direction of the actors. The acting is at best risible, with Eric Roberts clearly showing a complete lack of interest or engagement with his role that he sleepwalks his way through and the character interaction is very bland and sometimes random.
From start to finish, 'Neron' badly lacks tension or suspense, which immediately dilutes the atmosphere. Nothing scares and it all feels too safe, which is why there is so much predictability. Everything is easily foreseeable long before it happens and the pacing is just too dull. The script never sounds natural and the cheese factor is high and the interest factor low as can be.
The story is ruined by being paper thin, useless padding and a very dull pace. As with some recent viewings, it did feel too much like a short film stretched out to feature length with nowhere near enough content to fill it. A lot of it doesn't make sense either, far too many loose ends. The characters are never interesting, even with few attempts to which are so flimsily developed that it is difficult to care for any of them, and frustrate with the way they behave. So many stupid and illogical character behaviours here matched by the far-fetched ending.
In conclusion, a mess. 2/10 Bethany Cox

Other than some smoking hot models as the female actresses, there is absolutely NO REASON to watch this abysmal movie. It is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!, but props on pulling one of the most attractive casts for a horror film! I gave it a full extra star for that making it a 2 star film.

The movie is obviously cheaply made. The special effects are horrible, the acting is bad, and the story line doesn't make a lot of sense. The characters aren't consistent and it's hard to understand what's going on in more than one scene. Why this movie has been rated as high as 8,6* at the time of my review is beyond me. I would not recommend anyone to waste their time with this movie.

It's been a long time since i laughed so much watching a movie. The plot is as basic as it's gets, the Cinematography it's a complete disaster, as well as acting, SFX and FX... I especially loved the audio of the movie... or better the lack of it. There are entire scenes without music or audio, just the voice of the actors... and they still managed to make some line totally incomprehensible, with huge volume gaps between lines and a constant noise like someone is gently rubbing the sponge foam of the mics... FX are hilarious, even worst than Birdemic, they even managed to mess up every green screen used in the movie, with awful transparency, layering and placement issues. A must have for every z movie lover!

This is actually my first review of a movie and this one is so bad I had to write about it.
Firstly you actually wonder how they could get funding for this. The story is not believable at all. Not only that, the flow is incredulously mundane.
Furthermore, there are so many threads that are not carried through no even concluded properly. Worse still, the plot holes are HUGE.
In short, don't even bother watching or wasting your time as my conclusion is that they must have had extra money they needed to blow on an excuse for a movie and did this. Strangest part is that it has Eric Roberts in it! That tells me his career is really on the rocks to even agree to acting such a tepid piece of garbage like this one.

The rating on this movie is completely misleading don't waste your time. Predictable and bad writing on a shoestring budget modelled after The Omen or Rosemary's Baby if some teenagers wanted to remake one of those movies with their dad's digital camera. Why Eric Roberts would agree to be associated with a project like this is beyond me. If you want more reviews of this movie check out the movie 'Child of Satan'which is exactly the same movie with a different title (And a more accurate IMDb rating) This seems like a ploy from some of the film makers to game the ratings system to generate interest in their bad movie...over 41% of the reviewers gave it a ten? And the average female rated this a 9.7? Not in a million years... Consider yourself warned...

Absolutely rubbish. Dont waste your time by watching this. Acting is bad, the plot is poor, sound world is unprofessional. Apparently the film maker team put more an effort into trailer of this movie than into the movie itself.

This is quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. So do yourself a favor and watch it, please. I guarantee you'll be entertained.
That's the question you will ask after you finished watching this movie. It's cheap, unoriginal, with no plot to speak of and it's boring. If you want to see a movie about a demon child, watch the omen, don't waste your time with this.
Super funny
I love this movie. Its so much fun. Not a single part of this movie make any sense. The plot holes are enormous. The actors are one-demineional,. The script is totally confused. Its a total mess
There are many scenese in this so called movie that is LOL bad. Me and my son laughed so hard at the worst part of this crapfest. I saw on imdb that there where two morons that direct this crap. Where they in some kind of coma or high?
I recommend this awul/superfun movie to all the lovers of really bad movies out there.

If you want to have a cringe horror movie night, then this is what you should watch. The acting, the CGIs, The s*x scenes. I stopped the movie at 38mins in because it was that bad. It was all over the place. First couple of minutes was fine, but as the movie went on you can see how cheaply it was made. The guy looked like he didnt know what emotions to have at the scenes. Also down right flirting in front of his wife. I dont know how she didnt pick that up. Though it was really awkward flirting like they were a bunch of teens. So watch at your own risk of cringe unless you like that type of thing.

OMG this is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. No matter that it's not a comedy. How could anyone one-star this? Are you not entertained? Look, if you enjoy so-bad-they're-good flicks like The Room and Troll 2, you will love this. It has everything a good bad movie needs: plot holes galore, laughable special effects, poor attempts at intentional comedy, stilted dialogue, and terrible, (mostly) no-name actors. The fact that Eric Roberts gives the best performance when he drops in to collect a paycheck tells you all you need to know. Also, wait until you see that evil baby!! Remember Gage from Pet Sematary? Wielding that scalpel like a cutie patootie? Yeah, he's no longer the least believable demonic movie child ever.
