President Trump said Wednesday that he’d been “unanimously” elected to lead the board of the Kennedy Center, completing his takeover of the Washington, D.C. cultural center.

The move, which the president announced on his social media site Truth Social, comes after Trump moved to oust members of the organization’s board who had been appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden.

“It is a Great Honor to be Chairman of The Kennedy Center, especially with this amazing Board of Trustees,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We will make The Kennedy Center a very special and exciting place!”

On Monday, Trump announced that Richard Grenell, who serves as his envoy for special missions, would be the interim executive director of the Kennedy Center. A musical adaptation of the 1987 cult horror-comedy The Lost Boys is planned for Broadway.

The Lost Boys, A New Musical is set to arrive on Broadway in spring 2026 at the Palace Theatre. The musical will feature a score by The Rescues, direction by Tony Award winner Michael Arden (Parade, Maybe Happy Ending), and a book by David Hornsby, a writer and producer on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Chris Hoch.

Wicked is getting a new Elphaba, and she’s about to make history: Lencia Kebede will be the first Black actress to assume the role full time in the Broadway company.

Kebede, who recently starred in the touring company of Hamilton, will join Wicked on Tuesday, March 4. She’ll play opposite Allie Trimm, who takes over as Glinda at the same time. Trimm was the Glinda standby from December 2021 through March 2024.

French singer-writer-composer Charles Dumont, who is best known for co-writing Édith Piaf classic Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien, has died at the age of 95 after a long illness.

Dumont, who was born in the French city of Cahors in 1929, developed an early passion for jazz and trained first to be a trumpet player at the Toulouse Music Conservatory.

He moved to Paris after Word War Two, where he continued his music career but had to abandon the trumpet after an operation on his tonsils. He then pivoted to the piano and composition writing.

Updated: The Queen of Versailles has set its date with Broadway. The musical starring Kristin Chenoweth and F. Murray Abraham will bow during the 2025-26 season, producers announced Monday.

“The entire Queen of Versailles company is having an incredible time building this new original American musical with the gracious and arts-loving audiences in Boston,” said The Queen of Versailles producers Bill Damaschke, Seaview and Diva Worldwide Entertainment. “We look forward to the journey ahead and bringing this story to Broadway in the 2025-26 season.”

The show will run through August 25 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre.
