For season 11, the producers to decided to go without pumpkin carvers and sculpting with premade sheet cakes. Instead teams work on one big baked from scratch cake project. Instead of having a tasting element aspect, the cake itself would be sampled by the judges. For season 13 (September 2023), the show kept the set introduced in season 11 but returned to the original competition format and brought back the pumpkin carvers.
