I watched this because I absolutely adored the original Diva's Christmas Carol with Vanessa Williams. Vanessa Williams is such a great actress, and she plays a mean girl like none other.
This movie was just kind of blah for me. Eva Marcille was really funny as the silly ghost. She kind of reminded me of Sarah Jessica Parker in hocus-pocus. Robin Givens, and Vivica A Fox were their usual selves. This is the second Christmas movie that I've seen Ashanti in and she's not what I would call a bad actress, but I can't quite say she's a good actress either. She looks very much like she's acting, almost like it's a school play or something. That sounds like an insult but I really don't mean it that way because I love Ashanti.
Overall the acting was just OK and we all know the plot, so nothing new there. Watchable but nothing you need to rush home to see. Leave it on the DVR until you're bored.

Right, well I have to be honest and say that I was harboring zero expectations to this 2022 movie titled "A New Diva's Christmas Carol", as I sat down to watch it. Why? Well, initially it just didn't seem like a movie with all that much appeal.
But since it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to watch it and give it a fair chance.
And I will say that writer Aydrea Walden managed to put together a fair enough script here, because the movie wasn't really all that bad. "A New Diva's Christmas Carol" was watchable, yeah, but it wasn't exactly an outstanding movie experience. And while I did manage to sit through the entire movie and was adequately entertained, then I can honestly say that this is not a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
The acting performances in "A New Diva's Christmas Carol" were fair, and it was initially because I sat that the movie had Vivica A. Fox on the cast list that I picked it up. The movie also had Robin Givens on the cast list, so there are some nice enough performers on the cast list, just a shame that they were only in support roles.
"A New Diva's Christmas Carol" was watchable and enjoyable enough for what it turned out to be.
My rating of director Rusty Cundieff's 2022 movie "A New Diva's Christmas Carol" lands on a five out of ten stars.

I usually I am not a fan of musicals and Christmas movie but I decided to watch the movie because I love Ashanti and Vivica Fox. I am glad I did because the movie is entertaining and it has a beautiful story. I like the story line of the movie because the main character, Ashanti evolves through the movie, she is able to change her ways and overcome her challenges and becomes a better person. The reason that I watched the movie was to see Ashanti sing and I was not disappointed. The movie is not one of those movies that every other minute there are people dancing and singing, but the songs that appear on the movie are good.
I am also a huge of Vanessa's, but this is also very good. All of the actors were fabulous. Sure, it took a minute for Aphrodite to get a clue, but what all of these movies are about is remembering to be good to one another. Period. Not only during the holidays, but every day, all day. We need movies, like this, to remind us to be kind to one another. Aphrodite's journey is a journey she needs to take, as many of us. And it's a fictional twist on Charles Dickens. For me, all of these stories harken back to his time, which is timeless. Celebrate that it's presented with women in strong characters, who need to make amends and address a world in which we have to be more hardened than men, even if it means stepping on people to do so. This presents that there are different ways to achieve a goal, and that we all have a choice. Love it or hate it, but give it a chance. Beautiful women in interesting characters. Please watch and firm your own opinion, and take from it what you will.
