Hearthstone will soon receive the musically-themed Festival of Legends expansion, with all classes receiving cards based around a different genre. The 26.0 update will add 145 cards to the game, as well as several unique new mechanics. The expansion centers around the concept of Elite Tauren Chieftain - known as E.T.C. - throwing a huge music festival in Azeroth, inviting all the different classes to come join him on stage.
Each class has been assigned a genre fitting for their character - Death Knight has been matched with metal, Demon Hunter with emo, and Warrior with rock, for instance. All classes have a new legendary minion that corresponds to their genre, a legendary spell representing their most popular song, and a special instrument weapon. Hearthstone Festival of Legends has also introduces two new keywords: finale, special abilities that activate if they use the last of a player's mana, and overheal,...

The latest Hearthstone expansion Festival of Legends is one of the most creative in recent memory, giving every class unique, musically-themed cards based around different genres while introducing new mechanics. While some classes get a bit more attention than others, the 145 cards still introduce a myriad of interesting new possibilities for all. A recent theorycrafting event has given a much clearer idea of what fans can expect from the 26.0 update, which is slated to release later this month.
Although perhaps not as impactful as the 25.0 update's introduction of a new class, Festival of Legends still manages to innovate in intriguing ways. Each class has been assigned a genre that determines the theme of their cards - Death Knight is paired with metal, Druid with hippie, Paladin with disco, and so on - and each has received a legendary musician card as well as a legendary spell, which represents said artist's most famous song.

As part of a stunning series of ambitious Hearthstone updates, Blizzard has confirmed that the Demon Hunter class will finally be added to the game. This is the first new class to be added to Hearthstone since the game’s launch in 2014.
The best part? The Demon Hunter class will be released for free to all Hearthstone players.
“The Demon Hunter is a full-fledged class, free for all Hearthstone players,” Blizzard said in a press release. “He’ll be introduced on April 2 in a new prologue campaign, a four-part series of story-focused single-player missions, which retells Illidan Stormrage’s origin story from his perspective . . . and with a Hearthstone twist. Players will also receive, for free, all 10 Demon Hunter Basic cards as well as a 20-card set of Demon Hunter Starter cards. The reveal of Hearthstone’s Demon Hunter class is a major game-changer from Blizzard. Not only is this the first new class to be added to Hearthstone since the game’s release, but Demon Hunters have been somewhere near the top of the list of most requested Hearthstone features for a few years now.
Of course, all that anticipation comes with raised expectations. Yes, it’s exciting that Hearthstone is getting a new class, but can Blizzard really ensure that this class is ready to compete on day one?
Well, after spending some hands-on time with the Demon Hunter class during a recent Hearthstone press event, I can confirm that the answer to that question is “Yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.” In fact, in the words of Demon Hunter poster boy Illidan Stormrage, it’s safe to say that Hearthstone players are not prepared for what is to come.

Hearthstone’s upcoming Ashes of Outland expansion will not only see the release of a new Demon Hunter hero class and a variety of new cards, but it will also bring some welcome (and drastic) changes to the game as part of the Year of the Phoenix update.
The headline feature of the initial Year of the Phoenix update is an updated pack opening ruleset which prevents the opening of duplicate cards regardless of their rarity. Previously, only Legendary cards were protected from duplication. While it’s still possible to unlock two lesser rarity cards in order to complete your collection, you will not receive further copies of the cards after that. This will drastically reduce the number of card packs you will need to purchase in order to complete your collection. Furthermore, this rule will be applied to any packs that you currently own once it goes into effect.

Personally speaking, I'm not huge on special console collections (unless it's Star Wars for which I'm a sucker), but I can't deny how cool the majority of them are. Coming loaded with the game itself, a special carrying case, and even a special dock with Diablo themed artwork...If you don't have a Switch, this is a great version to pick up:

With the recent release of The Middle Finger on Blu-ray from Troma Entertainment I got a chance to talk to the multi-talented writer, director and actor Séamus Hanly what we can expect from Irelands newest superhero, working with Troma and the growth of independent films in Ireland
How did you first get into filmmaking?
I’ve been making films since I was little. When my parents got a camcorder, me and my brothers would make animated shorts with our toys, and as a teenager I made cartoons and home movies. After school I did a film course and have been working as an editor and making sketches for the past couple of years.
What can we expect from The Middle Finger?
The Middle Finger can be best summed up as a good laugh. It’s a silly film, but it has a nice enough satirical edge. We worked hard on...

Writer-director Zoe Kavanagh's horror-actioner "Demon Hunter" is available on digital/VOD August 15th from Wild Eye Releasing with a DVD release to follow. The award-winning Irish blow-out, which combines elements of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer", "Underworld" and "Evil Dead" has taken home more than 15 awards, including Best Director at the Fright Fest International Film Festival. Niamh Hogan, Alan Talbot, Kevin O'Malley, Nic Furlong, Sarah Tapes Jenkinson, and Margarita Grillis are starring. After she is captured by police for questioning in the slaying of a man she claimed was a demon, Taryn Barker must prove her innocence, and the existence of demons. But when a cult captures the daughter of one of the detectives on the case, the police must trust, and unleash, this warrior on...

"The battle for our souls has begun!" I don't know what this is and it doesn't look any good, but there's not many new trailers this week, so check it out. Wild Eye Releasing has debuted an official trailer for a low budget action horror film called Demon Hunter, formerly known as Taryn Barker: Demon Hunter. The story follows a detective whose daughter is abducted by a powerful man named Falstaff, a demonic force that has terrorized his town before. A young girl who is brought into the station is their only hope to help find and save his daughter. The full cast includes Niamh Hogan, Alan Talbot, Kevin O’Malley, Nic Furlong, Sarah Tapes Jenkinson, and Margarita Grillis. This apparently has touches of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and Underworld, though it's hard to tell in this footage, but it really looks awful. Avoid it. Here's the official trailer (+ poster...

Evan Rachel Wood isn’t taking any risks when it comes to the supernatural.
The 29-year-old “Westworld” actress told Cosmopolitan UK that she always carries sage as well as the gemstone tiger’s eye for “cleaning demons out of places.”
Wood isn’t the only Hollywood star to turn to mysticism in her everyday life; Katy Perry said in 2014 that she used rose quartz to attract men.

Lurking in the shadows of society, within the rich and powerful, is the true essence of evil. A young girl, Taryn Barker, descends into this dark underworld to search for her sister. But when the sister is raped and murdered, Taryn vows to take revenge. She survives a demonic possession that should have killed her during a satanic ritual, and is rescued by a team of demon hunters who train her to fight evil. Years later, Taryn is detained by police and questioned over the murder of a man who she believes to be a demon. As the bodies pile up, Police Detective Beckett is forced to seek Taryn’s aid in rescuing his daughter from a demonic cult. Running against the clock, Taryn must venture into the darkest depths of the city to save Beckett’s daughter and prevent a potential Hell on Earth.
A true independent horror movie, made completely outside the “system” by an Irish, first-time, female, filmmaker? That’s enough to peak anyone’s interest in Demon Hunter. But then add the fact that Zoe Kavanagh’s debut feature is a spin on the same arse-kicking, take-no-prisoners, give-no f**ks, strong-female character that made Buffy the Vampire Slayer must-see TV; and you have a film that should be on the radar of Every genre fan!
But can a truly independent film live up to such expectations? In a word. Yes.
Not confined by its obvious low-budget, Demon Hunter is – like all good indie genre cinema – a perfect storm of ideas, story, performances and filmmaking. And whilst budget may be lacking, the rest of the elements that make up Kavanagh’s film work to overcome any shortcomings: including a badass heavy metal soundtrack that really helps ramp up the excitement in the films numerous fight scenes; and a setting – the streets of Dublin – that haven’t really been explored in such rich detail previously.
In terms of story and plot, Demon Hunter packs a Lot into its swift runtime. The film manages to not only tell Taryn’s backstory, but also weave an intricate, and intimate, tale of the oldest of battles: that between good and evil. By making Taryn’s tale one of not only good vs. evil, but also of revenge and personal vengeance, Kavanagh manages to make what is essentially a small-scale production feel a part of a much larger story in an even larger universe. This really feels like only the beginning for our titular demon hunter…
Speaking of whom, our heroine Taryn is part Buffy, part Angel (with a dash of The Crow) and not only embodies everything that made those two characters great, but she’s a fiesty, fighting Irish lass too. With an inherent vulnerability – due to both her past and because of what Falstaff has put her through – that keeps the character grounded in reality when fighting demons is anything but real life. Taryn’s journey is fully mapped out here: from her schoolgirl beginnings to the rousing, and kick-ass, speech she gives at the end – this is her story, her fight, her film. And heres to seeing more!
Demon Hunter is out now from Left Films.

Demon Hunter is a low budget debut feature film written and directed by Zoe Kavenagh and filmed in Dublin, Ireland. Deciding not to play it safe with its dark Gothic feel, it’s as much a character driven revenge drama, as it is an action movie. There is still a lot of fun to be had here, but this is not your typical switch off and enjoy your popcorn type of film.

Company to produce series of feature with Hung and his son Timmy Hung.
China’s Tianying Media unveiled collaborations with Hong Kong action star Sammo Hung and Australian post-production company Post Intelligence Company (Pic) at an event in Cannes on Friday (May 19).
The Tianjin-based company is producing a series of features with Hung and his son Timmy Hung, starting with action comedy Lucky 5. The collaboration with Pic sees the Australian post house work on three of Tianying Media’s features over the next three years.
“We hope by creating these cross-cultural collaborations, more international companies will take advantage of the China market by working with Tianjin,” said Tianying Media general manager Wu Jian.
Established last year, Tianying Media is the commercially-driven production and financing associate of state-owned Tianjin North Film Group. It aims to invest $100m in international co-productions and is also developing fantasy thriller Demon Hunter and animation Bobby And Husk.
