HBO/HBO Max scored the most nominations among platforms, taking 130 to narrowly beat Netflix with 129.

The Crown and The Mandalorian tied for the most honours when nominations for the 73rd Emmys were announced this morning (July 13).

Each series scored 24 nominations, and they were joined in the nominations for best drama series by The Boys, Bridgerton, The Handmaid’s Tale, Lovecraft Country, Pose and This Is Us.

The nominations are out for the 21st annual Golden Trailer Awards, which celebrate the pros who created the trailers and film marketing for new movies from the past two years. Check out the full list below.

The honors cover content created between April 2019 and April 2021 from studios, independent films and foreign films. Winners will be announced during a hybrid ceremony July 22 at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center in Greeneville, Tn. Winners in 16 categories will be honored during a livestream that starts at 7 p.m. Pt.

“We’re absolutely amazed at the talent we’ve seen over the past couple years,” said Evelyn Brady-Watters, who co-founded the GTAs with her sister, Monica Brady. “Especially with the turbulent times we’ve had, we’re honored to celebrate the incredible and entertaining work of our industry professionals, whose craft shines through and entertains us through good times and bad.”

The 18th Annual Gold Derby TV Awards nominations were announced on Thursday, July 8, honoring the best achievements in television from June 2020 through May 2021 (as well as hanging episodes of shows that finished airing their seasons this June). Far and away the top nominee among all programs is “The Crown,” which has a remarkable 16 nominations. That includes Best Drama Series, two lead actresses, four supporting actresses and four episodes up for Drama Episode of the Year. Its seven Drama Series rivals are “The Alienist: Angel of Darkness,” “Bridgerton,” “The Boys,” “The Handmaid’s Tale,” “Lovecraft Country,” “The Mandalorian” and “Pose.

This holiday season, Netflix will add blockbuster comedies new and old to its collection, as well as some more artistic fare fresh from festival circuit. Labor Day is considered the end of summer, which means fall, our favorite season, is just around the corner. And it's also time to cast your votes for the sixth annual Reaper Awards, running now through October 17th. Winners will be announced just prior to Halloween on October 27th.

The Reaper Awards, honoring the best horror and thriller titles of the past year on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, are presented by Home Media Magazine and DreadCentral.com. Eligible titles were released between August 1, 2013, and July 31, 2014.

Results of the consumer vote will be combined with the selections of a judging panel of horror experts and home entertainment reviewers. The panel of judges will also select a Title of the Year.

Note that titles were submitted by participating studios, and if you believe a title is missing from the list, it may be due to the studio not submitting it for consideration.

Independent of the last 20 minutes The Haunting of Helena (2013) is a slightly below average person haunting. Yet there is a genius of sorts in this. With the Bloody Disgusting name behind it the film is aimed at fans of hauntings who are used to the formula. Despite the assumed predictability the action is stimulating enough for most horror aficionados to keep watching.

Just when you thought horror films about creepy girls with black hair had gone out of vogue, along comes The Haunting of Helena. Directors Christian Bisceglia (who also wrote the screenplay) and Ascanio Malgarini (who also served as the film’s visual effects supervisor) bring their Italian sensibilities to the horror genre. Despite the European influence on the film (which is much more bearable than the gritty gore that American horror films have descended to), Haunting still feels like a horror repeat.

The Haunting of Helena was originally titled Fairytale. Shot in Italy, The Haunting of Helena will be released in North America June 18th on VOD, before showing in theatres June 21st. The film plays with the mythology of the tooth fairy. In the story, a young girl and her single mom take up residence in a new home. Helena, the daughter, loses her first baby tooth and a strange apparition appears. Then, Helena becomes obsessed with collecting the teeth of her classmates to subdue the new entity. The Haunting of Helena is being released as part of Blood Disgusting Selects. And, fans of thrillers are encouraged to see the latest clip from the film, "Insect Attack." Chicago – Originally called “Fairytale,” “The Haunting of Helena” will be available on VOD tomorrow, June 18, 2013, before a very limited release on June 21, 2013. It’s a generic, mediocre horror flick with a few effective images and some interesting thematic play in the second act that is, sadly, totally underdeveloped. This update of the Tooth Fairy legend takes the familiar and tries to make it terrifying but horrendous dialogue (someone actually says without a hint of irony, “You must leave this house before it’s too late”) and weak performances will aggravate even the most forgiving horror fans.
