    Gave me Goosebumps

The Killer that influences kids. The story is fantastic and it is narrated beautifully. Hugh Dancy is fantastic in all his scenes. The reconstruction of crime scenes is shot brilliantly. I am enjoying every bit of this. Fantastic show. Hannibal could not have been explored better. Mads Mikkelsen looks every bit of the spine chilling serial killer and Kacey Rohl as Abigail Hobbs plays the prey beautifully..

    It Is For Me.

So in the beginning of this one Graham continues his 'therapy' under the brilliant doctoral skills of Hannibal Lecter.

We explore the deep feelings that killing Jacob Hobbs unlocked in Graham.

+1 Star for the chemistry between Lecter and Graham.

Then we move to a new crime scene, the Turner family. Graham applys his talents at figuring out the design of a new killer? Or is it???

And more meeting with Graham and Lecter, talking about Abigail. Talking about Hobbs and family matters.

And Lecter is constantly having Crawford over for dinner. How yummy!!!

And Crawford asks his wife a very important question.

    +1 Star for her answer.

    This episode gets a 7/10

The action is in the dialogues!

I think this is one of the most important chapter (if not the most) to understand both the psychology of Hannibal and Will. I see some people saying is another serial killer that diverts the path of the series. They couldn't be more wrong! This episode shows tension. If you pay enough attention you can know what is coming and you know isn't good but somehow (if you were able to get attached to the main characters so far) you want it to happen.

This episode shows action too. We see Hannibal pulling the strings of his puppets. We as a viewer can see through Hannibal, we see his definition of family and how he will teach it to the people he loves. A concept that is the series' target.

Symbolism is very important and the photoshoot too. They speak by themselves.

You just need a little bit of Will's gift: Imagination. It is not enough just to understand what the characters say, you have to imagine yourself in their situations to understand why and so the point the series is leading us.

Really good acting, story driven but the killer of the week could be better

I disagree with those that do not think this episode was just as good, the story and the acting is still very top notch with the exclusion of how the killer of the week story was executed. For not being one of the finer episodes due to it slowly building up it is still one top episode compared to other series.

    Good character episode

This is an effective establishing episode for many of the main characters, particularly Lecter, Graham, Bloom, and Crawford. Recurring characters such as Abigail Hobbs, and also the FBI forensic team have great moments. The theme of family and the behaviours linked with connecting and disconnecting to a family is explored very well in their actions and dialogue.

I have similar feelings to other reviewers about the killer-of-the-week aspect of this chapter. It is one of the most disturbing concepts I have ever seen portrayed in a fictional story and links perfectly to the family related themes. However, more should have been included about how this individual successfully brainwashed the perpetrators to commit these acts to make it more plausible.

Visually it is another incredibly effective piece of filmmaking. The imagery associated with the crime scenes are some of the most horrific I have encountered. Plus the general cinematography, sound and editing is as great as ever.

If you are looking for a bit of light escapism, I would avoid this one (and Hannibal).

Mads Mikkelsen genuinely pricked his finger in the scene with the fishhook.

Will Graham: Captor bonding. It's a passive psychological response to a new master. Been an essential survival tool for a million years. You bond with your captor, you survive. You don't, you're breakfast.

The "web series" version of the episode is heavily censored and runs only 22 minutes. There are no scenes featuring Molly Shannon or the murder of children.
