Great movie. A lovely story with romantic and dramatic colors, you will travel through modern Madrid night dark streets, in a mixture of dialogues and silent moments that will make you laugh and think, think about this modern society, this modern youth, and modern moral, the romantic relationships, sincerity, lies and our responsibility regarding our acts. The script is beautiful, it will give you at first a harmony feeling and comfort, to take you then into a disturbing atmosphere and a clumsy and emotional violence state. You'll see a strong psychological struggle between the characters, as they go switching their moods and hidden intentions and thoughts. Stockholm is a bit disturbing regarding the truth that is telling, and because of both charming characters, very real and complex inside their own ways of walking through life.

Do not be mislead by the title, the plot's action takes place in Madrid. The story is centered on a young man and a girl that meet at a party, and is very credible and well transmitted to the audience.
The man is a Latin charmer, the girl is a beautiful, simple, shy one. Do not think it will bore you, because unexpected things can and will happen.
I've seen the film in a festival, and it sure left me thinking about it for hours. I rate it with 8 because it is not a very complex/life changing story, it is a simple story that is well told.
For a well made, convincing story and great cinematography I place the film director in the same class as Almodovar and other great Spanish directors.

a simple story. atmosphere of a play. minimalistic acting. dialogs defines more for the sound of words than ideas. story of a meeting who becomes, scene by scene, a form of revelation. because it propose, in honest manner, two characters and the slices of theirs lives who defines the meeting as clash of solitudes. a bitter movie. the tension is large, the humor has drops of sadness, the two parts of the relation are different only to define a special final. an old fashion film who becomes modern for that status. fascinating, not real different by another independent films, it is one of useful stories about the search to become the other and to escape from yourself.

This is a good film, but I would caution the viewer not to have high expectations. With no expectations, there's a chance you may walk away with an enjoyable experience. There is really nothing spectacular about this film except the fact that as the story progresses, one grows to loath a character who initially comes across as likable. The dialogue is borderline excessive imo, but a curiosity compels one to stick with it.
I think the reviews for this film would have probably been a higher if the story line followed a less typical format. I guess in actuality, there is no such thing as an original script or story. All patterns have been followed at one point in time or another. This was true almost 30 years ago in Fatal Attraction with Glenn Close and Micheal Douglas, but the writing, direction, and acting still brought a good enough twist to keep one glued to screen and for the film to win awards. I guess the counterargument here would be budget and star power, which is why I'm have not given the film a rating 6.

It begins with a young, Javier Pereira, attempting to get a beautiful girl , Aura Garrido, he met at a party to like him. As two twenty and some young people share an unlikely meeting. He is a good-looking guy, a seducer who usually falls in love for women, she is a shy and charming girl. At the beginning she refuses but he doesn't give up and he convinces her to join at night and following an overlong and sympathetic conversation between them, during which he arranges to gain her attention , then emerges a mutual attraction. It concerns about talking among protagonists and precipitating to a surprising ending.
It deals with the superficiality of the human relations and the unexpected results. It takes place in a few locations, at a flat and the Madrid night streets. The two protagonists giving awesome acting, while exchange life experiences, philosophies, stakes and jokes in the typical conversational fashion, but things go wrong in the morning after and results in a disastrous conclusion . The film relies heavily on excessive dialog and sometimes monotonous conversation. It starts as a romantic piece in the firts part , it is a light, simple "Getting to know you" comedy , displaying an ordinary love story. While the second one results to be dramatic and unfolds tragical , precipitable happenings , including a disturbing battle of wits .To be said the most breathtaking issue of the film is the extreme contrast between the two different parts of the flick and how the main roles are really involved into changing situations.
It packs a colorful and adequate cinematography by Alejandro de Pablo, Sorogoyen's regular cameraman. And a sensitive and evocative musical score. The motion picture was well directed by Borja Semper and Rodrigo Sorogoyen. Borja is a good writer, producer, director assistant and filmmaker with a few films. While Rodrigo has directed successful Tv series sich as : La pecera de Eva, Fragiles, Vida loca, Impares and notorious films such as : 8 citas, May God save us 2016 with Antonio de la Torre, Javier Pereira, Roberto Alamo ,and El Reino 2018 with Antonio De la Torre, all of them have won various awards and Goyas. And furthermore, a short , Oscar nominated, titled Mother. Rating 7/10. Better than average. Notable film. Well worth seeing.

I loved this movie. I shed a tear. When I first saw the title I thought the action takes place in Stockholm. After watching the movie I realized that the title is probably referring to the Stockholm syndrome. I found it to be very touching. It perfectly described the superficiality in nowadays people interactions, how words lost a meaning and how something that is unimportant to us can mean so much to another person. I can say that it was a really good movie, because the producer didn't use eye candy tricks to make it enjoyable. The action happened in very few places, but the conversation between them was so meaningful and lacking clichés. I must also add that the actors were fabulous.
Stockholm is one of those hidden gems you wish to come across every now and then. It is well written, well acted film and it makes you think about it for days after you have watched it. The characters feel very real and the dialogue is honest. The first half is very reminiscent of Before Sunrise with Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. The second half however, is completely different. There is a sudden change in the mood of the film, the characters reveal their darker side and the lighting becomes very bright which I thought was a nice contrast since the first part of the film is much lighter but it takes place at nighttime so the surroundings are of course much darker. The ending was done well too. Highly recommended to anyone that is looking for a good drama film.
First of all, say that this film is a SPOA like I say always (strong piece of art). There's an incredible perfection between the plot and the technical direction things (takes, art direction, etc).
This film normally uses sequence shots for express all things in one, this makes you the feeling of being inside the house and get the same emotions of the characters.
I rate with 9 and not with 10 for his precipitate an unexpected final... too awesome anyways, makes you'll be reflecting about during hours. I've seen people rating the film so bad just for the plot, but this is alternative cinema!! It's normal that surrealist or strange character reactions, plots, stories, etc like this, because the principal function is voice the point of view of the director from the cameras.
Finally, said that the most impressive thing is the contrast of the two parts of the film (from the stages to the perfect change of roles), and how characters are involved.

The two words above totally sum up this movie. I would also add that the characters are very annoying and you want to punch them repeatedly during the course of the film.
For people who know Madrid it's also a bit odd as during their walk through the city the couple pass through totally different neighborhoods.
This is a hipster film for sure and I'm sure the writers thought that what they were creating was cool and original. For me it was simply painful to watch and you could spot the ending about 5 minutes into the film.
The dialogues, when they are not simply annoying, are highly pretentious.

that is its huge virtue - the fresh air. the music, the images, the dialog. as bricks/crumbs/pillars of it.that detail does it great. because it is piece from a tradition, precise and poetic, cruel and sadness, a Rubik cube and perfect gem.nothing original, at first sigh. a war who reminds Bergman movies.but... the dialog seems be mathematical calculated. the music is the wise choice. the two actors - the best opportunity for discover the smart, nuanced performance. it is beautiful and, in same measure, high useful. a film for remember and discover. fascinating for its minimalism. and for the sides of same case. must see it ! maybe,as a kind of refuge out of blockbusters waves.
This is quite the tough movie ... for multiple reasons. Because while it may seem like a romantic (drama) on the surface, it is so much more. And that is because while especially at first it does appear to just go in one direction and you may not entirely believe in what the characters are doing (or not), it does take you someplace else entirely towards the end ... literally.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Almost as ahead of myself as the main male character here - who seems really fixated on that one woman. Could it be he fell in love with her? And what would that mean for or to her? Those things are not always mutual ... but there is not much time to think, because things happen ... and then they don't. And then things are being said ... well I won't say what, but again you have to cut the movie some slack. Suspend your disbelief as they say.
Because this is not just giving us certain perspectives from either gender side (male or female in this case), but also seems to fast forward or at least go to many relationship stages too. Not saying you'll love the movie for doing so ... and I am not sure "love" is something that after watching the movie will be on your mind.
All that aside, this is quite the low budget inspired movie, that will live and die with how much you buy into the main characters and their respective dilemmas ... not all clear from the start ... or maybe they are? You be the judge, no pun intended.

Both of the leads are annoying as all hell. Would you want to spend any time with them? 88 minutes was more than enough and therein lies the problem. It's really a short film extended. It's repetitious beyond belief.
It's probably a good example for young women not to be fooled by guys like this because they're out there and give the majority of guys who are decent, a bad name. Perhaps the moral of the story is that we all need to take responsibility for our actions. In this case, both the participants. Pity there's nothing to like about either of them.
The idea is there but there's not enough to make a feature out of it.
