    So much fun!

I had the pleasure of seeing 'Coffee Kill Boss' in Austin and found it to be a totally silly fun film. It does take a little time to get used to. The feel is almost melodrama but the actors all seem to be in on the joke. Once it gets going the story is absolutely hysterical, and the actors did a terrific job of balancing between the comedy and other elements. It never really gets scary, but I'm only speaking for myself as some in the audience seemed shocked by several of the ah-hem, accidents, that happen to certain characters. It's definitely a film I'd like to watch again because I feel I missed a lot of lines. It's very well written. Gorgeous cinematography as well. A+++

A Waste of Time on a Bad Joke of a Comedy

Usually the Austin Film Festival has very good films. But the opening night film Coffee, Kill Boss was absolutely awful. The film was poorly written, quickly filmed and without any redeeming value. The acting is also quite poor and unbelievable. It was supposed to be a comedy about a Board of Directors locked in an office and employees start killing each other. But while there were occasionally funny moments, the whole story seemed completely pointless. At first I thought they might be trying to satire the corporate business world, but that got lost along the way. Most of the characters were uninteresting and unlikable stereotypes. They managed to make fun of both the blind and the elderly. Many in the audience were just shaking their heads at how this film every got produced and accepted to AFF. It was a waste of 94 minutes that I'll never get back. If you see this film advertised, run in the other direction.

    A Classic Comedic Farce

So I am a big fan of indie film but never bothered to write a review til now. When I found out the Austin Film Festival was going on while I was visiting Austin, I was so excited and decided to watch the festival's opening movie Coffee, Kill Boss.

This film is a quirky witty comedy thriller. There were a lot of killings happening in the movie but the music and tone let you know you're aren't supposed to take any of it seriously. Think Mel Brooks or even Dr. Strangelove. Most of the actors are not well known, but they all did an excellent job. I liked the characters Dom and Chuck, they are the funniest ones. It's always fun to watch this type of movie with a big crowd.

Coffee, Kill Boss is not the type of comedy full of dumb jokes. A lot of lines have double meanings. I have to go back and watch it again when the movie officially released. If you get a chance to watch it, I recommend it.

    Lacey is so good..

I've never done a review on here before but I saw someone else gave this movie a 1 star on here and they are so wrong!!! They must be old and forgot how to laugh because this film is my favorite at Austin festival. My favorite was Noureen Dewulf, she was so silly. I love her as Lacey in Anger.. Also the blind guy and the main guy from Oceans. If your laughing you can miss a lot of the jokes because it goes really fast but I like movies like that. Its like Parks and Rec with with tons of funny stuff. It's not really like Office. The ending was a little strange but I still think its so good. Its so cool to see everyone at the showing like all the actors and everyone. If you don't think this movie is good you are crazy! Go see it at a theater near you!
