This movie screams "amateur." I spent $5 to rent it and I could have spent a dollar less renting something far more professional. The interactions characters have with each other, as well as their reactions to horrific events happening before them, feel forced and unrealistic. The acting is so bad, it's on par with Birdemic: Shock and Terror. I didn't even get past half an hour before realizing I wasted my money. I wouldn't recommend this garbage to anyone, not even people looking for an entertaining 80s B-Horror movie. Characters hanging out with each other and fishing repeat the same generic lines over and over again. If you try to make it through this film without your mind persuading you to make more use of your time by watching paint dry, you have my respect.

This is really a one and a half star movie. The only way to say anything nice about it is to compare it to a true one star movie. The script isn't horrible, but not really watchable.
I guess you could say the same about the acting ... not specifically horrible but not that watchable either. There are a few actors that appear to understand what it takes to make something believable, but they are dragged down by the majority that don't.
The screenplay and camera work isn't high school drama class bad, but it isn't that much better.
I really wanted to give this a chance, especially as there are a few scenes with potential. And I think the cast and crew are trying ... but looking at the finished product that would probably be more of an insult than a compliment.

Quick, run! And Shivers! Those were some of the impressions I was left with after viewing Chris Cheeseman's breakout horror movie 'Mind Leech' this past week at the Mayfair in Ottawa. Mind Leech is a human portrayal of what could happen if earth was ever invaded by poisonous, blood-thirsty invertabretes. The story is of a humungous, sluglike cling-on, wreaking havoc in a small community, Provinstate. A psychological thriller, this film hilariously incorporates some Canadian-isms throughout its duration too. It has a good ol' fashion scare-factor and will have you sitting on the edge of your seat!

From start to finish a phenomenal B movie scifi-horror parody capturing both the acting and shot styles of the genre. Chris has revived the cheesy b horror with a passion a kin to what Jordan Peele did for the triple A feature horror with get out.
An especially valuable gem for anyone who loves practical effects.
While much can be teased about the budget effects or acting anyone who grew up with b-movies or fellin love with them later on will recognize that mindleech captures a genre/period in film amazingly with a nostalgia so powerful its almost cringeworthy at times.
Can't wait for the sequel and undoubtedly in universe spin-off/bearded 80s celebrity cameos!

Mind Leech truly has the feel of a 80's cult B horror film! I saw the premiere at the Revue Cinema in Toronto with the best crowd that included the full cast and crew! Mind Leech is hilarious and ridiculous and shocking and so much fun! The shooting of the film is spectacular for first time director and producer Chris Cheeseman. It's raw and punk and so very enticing. The actors are amazing for this being their first time in a full length feature film! I thoroughly enjoyed all 60 minutes of this film! Looking forward to more films from Chris Cheeseman because although this is his first film- it should definitely not be his last!
