The film was started in the 2000 with the title "Akshamya". It was later changed to "Mukt". It was delayed for several years due to financial problems.
Sanjay Kapoor and Aditi Govitrikar were in the film . After they dropped out, Rocky Khanna and Sonali Kulkarni replaced them.
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia,Canada.
