Kurukkan (2023)
A police officer try to frame a innocent paper boy but it's not workout... Because that paper boy seems good hacker and intelligent soo it backfires to him... Good story and poor execution... One time watchable movie..!
Other review... A self deprecating police officer who is down on luck and hasn't had any career promotion's tries to frame an innocent to make fame, but it backfires on him.

Directed by Jayalal Divakaran. One time time pass movie. Silly comedy dialogues scenes for all actors. There is death of an instagram influencer, and Vineeth Seeenivasan who is a police officer is investigating it. He fixates on Shine Chacko as the murderer, and creates a story and fake witnesses to make him the culprit. Shine being tech savvy defends his own case. Oo antava vava by Vineeth Sreenivasan, and all his comical scenes, is hilarious. He did really well. Sreenivasan is the usual fake witness for the police: He gets his dues as well at the end. Overall fun for a one time watch. And great to see Vineeth Sreenivasan being comfortable in any role.

The movie falls somewhere between good and bad. It has noticeable direction flaws and even experienced actors deliver subpar performances. The script lacks originality, and when compared to "Mukundan Unni Associates," it falls short in greatness.
Nevertheless, it's a decent watch. In the last few minutes, Vineeth Sreenivasan nailed the entire show with his humorous mannerisms, and Sreenivasan, known for his witty dialogues, makes a commendable return to Malayalam cinema. It's heartwarming to see father and son sharing the screen.
All in all, it's not a terrible choice for a movie night. Keep your expectations in check and enjoy it as a time-killer.

"oola" film like the name of one of the characters. Very bad film making. There is nothing good about this movie especially with such a star cast. Over acting by everyone - guess they were made to. Court scenes very similar to the ones in the recent movies. Looks like they were "inspired" by lot of movies. Waste of time, money and effort.

I kinda had a good feeling about the movie thinking it's Vineeth Srinivasan and the guy wouldn't go anywhere near a below average movie, Guess I was wrong entirely!!
The script is actually not so bad i would say, but the casting totally ripped it off! A lot , i mean a lot of scenes feel pretty cooked up and the characters are making a fool out of themselves throughout this film. The background scores seem sarcastically funny, maybe the director intended the same. However the dubbing totally went south with the character of shine tom Chacko, the lip movements and the dialogues are totally out of sync like even a kindergartener can figure that out. In many scenes especially on the second half of the movie I felt like shine was pretty much behaving like an MDMA junkie who's about to loose his it. The character enactment by all the peeps on screen are subpar and even a noob film school fresher might have put them to shame. Also no genuine logic applies here on screen while they are trying to show a hacker at play with shine and others. The ip addresses shown are common subnet numbers any tech savvy human can make out also the data recovery screen they show is almost like some stuff from kochu tv.
It's 2023 and they are still doing this!! #facepalm The only thing I liked about the movie was the climax and a lil comic acting from Vineeth for a couple of minutes. I would definitely not encourage anyone to watch this.

The film reminded us a lot of 'Mukundan Unni Associates', where a struggling main character uses cunning means to make it in life.
Hence, there was sadly nothing extraordinary
DELICIOUS
-As expected, Vineeth does not disappoint when it comes to being the comedian. He always delivers the funniest lines with a straight face😆
It was nice to see Srikant Murali in a comic role!
-Impeccable work done on the sound effects which accentuated inspector Dinesh's numerous mishaps
BLAND
-Kurukkan had several long scenes; e.g, the opening courtroom scene took about 20 min; even though this was meant to introduce Sreenivasan's character, it felt very tedious and could have been done differently
As a result, we weren't well directed as the focus was placed on areas that didn't matter much
-It wasn't Shine Chacko's best rendition. His appearance was sloppy, he looked tired, and wasn't as memorable as he usually is
-Overall, there wasn't much to take from the film. It was the common mischievous scheme to win a court case. There were unfortunately no sizzling elements that made it fascinating.

Vineeth Sreenivasan is an extremely talented person, his songs are heartwarming, his direction although feels cringe at time usually is good, but acting is not his cup of tea and of late he has been type casted as an eccentric character as in this film.
Another actor that i have zero opinion about is Shine Tom, he was good some years back like in Ithihasa and all but of late his acting is so clumsy, his dialogue delivery is atrocious. I see no acting chope on this guy that so many people choose to cast him. In this film it felt like he was forced to act and talk. Seriously guys who casts this guy?!!
When you have both your central characters played by these people no matter what content you push out it wall fall flat.
Please avoid this movie at all costs, and tell anyone you know not to watch this. Good lord!

I've saw many reviews on IMDb saying "oola" film. Actually I'd say yes but also no. Cause there's comedy in this film. So watchable. A down-on-his-luck not down-on-luck, but absolutely low iq - police officer tries to frame his crime to an innocent man but it soon backfires on him. Direction wise I didn't like much. My question towards every Malayalam film directors is "WHY DOES YOUR FILM COLOUR GRADING EXACTLY SAME AS OTHER FILMS" Absolutely I hate, it's always colourful. For this film slightly red theme would match. I'd recommend this but not for family audiences cause they show middle finger.

Movie with a fresh concept and storyline. However, the script, direction, and editing are mediocre. The movie is saved from being a disaster by the good performances of Sreenivasan, Vineet Sreenivasan, and the actor playing the judge.
The script is full of clichés and the dialogue is often stilted. The direction is uninspired and the editing is sloppy. Direction these days is not just shooting what is in script by placing camera to actors. As a result, the movie feels slow and boring at times.
Overall, Kurukkan is a disappointing movie with a few bright spots. Can be watched once if you have free time.
