Pizza Tower is a video game about a chef named Peppino Spaghetti going up a tower filled with enemies and rivals to defeat a sentient pizza to save his pizzeria restaurant. The premise of the game may seem stupid, and it is, but stupidity is this games charm, and the execution is amazing. Firstly, and what may have initially drawn people to the game, is its artstyle, which is very reminiscent of old flash games, and fits well with how crazy the game is. Second of all, and maybe most importantly, is the gameplay, which is based entirely off of speed and going fast, and oh is it fun as hell. The controls are very smooth and function well, and with the amount of moves Peppino has, it surprisingly doesn't feel overwhelming. Third is the levels themselves, which are all unique and different from each other, to where you could definitely guess the level easily based off of a single image, for example, John Gutter is very rocky, Pizzascape is castle-like, Bloodsauce Dungen is very firey and red, you get the point. Last thing I wanna talk about are the bosses, which somehow are as good as the main levels. Each boss is quite different from one another in terms of how they are handled. Pepperman is simple but can get you while your guard is lowered, the Vigilante requires you to adjust to a new moveset, the Noise is extremely unpredictable and puts the taunts, which can parry stuff, to good use, the 4th boss requires multitasking against 2 of them, and Pizzaface, the final boss, makes you use everything from the previous bosses combined. Overall, this game is a masterpiece, and is worth every buck, plus more.
