Marcel is divorced from his wife Andrea. Marcel can see his daughter Lise for the weekend. When he picks her up to spend the weekend together, they don't know how to cope with each other. Lise is shy and Marcel is not used to be around the young girl. It turns out Marcel is drinking and this disturbs the relation with Lise. During the weekend we watch trough Marcel's eyes how his daughter is growing up with 5 years at a time. At every turn he is confronted with the different life stages of his daughter. He is used to his self for quite a while. When Lise turns 29, she confronts Marcel with his drinking problem.
