FromSoftware had to put in five years of hard work behind it and when Elden Ring came, the game became an instant hit. Elden Ring’s open-world gameplay was compared by fans and developers to that of other iconic Aaa open-world games created by Western developers like the Horizon series, and the Assassin’s Creed series.
Elden Ring became a fan favorite
FromSoftware’s Elden Ring became the target of outspoken criticism on social media by a few developers from Western developers. Their strongest criticisms were directed at the game’s difficult combat, clunky game user interface, and absence of common features like a quest log.
Western developers not happy with Elden Ring’s success
YouTuber @ENDYMIONtv in their video states that “Elden Ring pissed off an entire continent of game developers”. This is because many game developers criticized the game on different game websites and on X. These developers added...

Ubisoft has a very weird way to manage certain game projects; for example, Skull and Bones had more than 10 years in development and launched one month ago with several delays.
The company has also announced a Call of Duty-like game, XDefiant, which was first revealed in 2021, and since then, with just one beta of the game, there has been no more news about it. This beta was released 268 days ago, and Ubisoft has not talked about this game since then, and there seems to be no rush to launch the title.
Ubisoft and another Call of Duty clone that has no update whatsoever; where is XDefiant? Ubisoft’s XDefiant has not given any news since the beta. This Call of Duty-style shooter is nowhere to be found
The track record of Ubisoft is not good at all; some projects that the multibillion-dollar company has announced have had various delays and not even one new update.

Ubisoft’s free-roam sci-fi action-adventure game series Watch Dogs has received mixed reviews from critics and players alike. The game did have an interesting premise, but some felt it didn’t break out of the Ubisoft open-world formula enough to stand out among other games like Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry.
It seems the potential of the series has been noticed by people outside of the gaming community as well. It’s common for popular franchises to get adapted into other media, and the same is happening with a live-action movie for Watch Dogs. But is Ubisoft taking on more than it can handle?
The Watch Dogs Movie will be Created by New Regency
A Watch Dogs adaptation may not be the best idea for Ubisoft currently.
Deadline was the first to report on this matter. The movie will reportedly feature Sophie Wilde, who debuted in A24’s Talk to Me...

New Regency and Ubisoft Entertainment are teaming up for a live-action feature film based on the action-focused tactical hacker video game, “Watch Dogs.” The studio previously landed French director Mathieu Turi (“Meander“) and has chosen the first actor to lead the video game adaptation. Deadline reports that young Aussie actress Sophie Wilde has joined the project.
If you’re not familiar with the original ambitious video game, below is the official logline via Ubisoft’s website as a refresher:
You play as Aiden Pearce, a brilliant hacker and former thug whose criminal past led to a violent family tragedy.

Talk To Me breakout star Sophie Wilde is set to appear in Watch Dogs, a long-in-gestation adaptation of Ubisoft’s hacking-based videogame series.
As such Hollywood films as Blackhat and Hackers have taught us, only the coolest and most photogenic people engage in cybercrime. The cool-and-trendy-hacker theme was continued in Watch Dogs, a series of sandbox action adventure videogames first published by Ubisoft in 2014.
Spawning a hit franchise comprising two sequels and counting, Watch Dogs sees high-tech outlaws cause all kinds of digital mischief in cities around the world, with each game taking in stealth, driving, fisticuffs, shooting and tinkering with electronic devices.
A film adaptation based on the series was first floated by Ubisoft Motion Pictures back in 2013, before the original game was even released. The division’s plans for a multitude of movies based on its games took something of a body blow, however, when 2016’s Assassin’s Creed,...

From Keanu Reeves to Banjo-Kazooie, these are our favorite announcements from E3 2019...
The annual E3 conference sees developers from around the world assembling in one place with a simple goal: to try and outdo each other with the biggest game reveals. And now that E3 2019 has come to an end, let's have a look at how this year's revelations compare to the classics that have come before.
There were a few companies that didn't attend E3 this year, with Sony choosing not to show off its next-gen console and Rocksteady opting against unveiling its next project. This slightly-less-packed-than-usual schedule meant that E3 2019 was primed quite nicely for a show-stealing moment, and a fair few companies attempted to make the most of that opportunity.
Here's our rundown of the 11 best reveals from this year's E3, including the videos, so you can watch them all again...

An Ubisoft-created AI has indicated that the video game company will be ready to announce Watch Dogs 3 at 2018’s E3.
There was always a feeling that the first two Watch Dogs games only scratched the surface of what could easily be an ongoing series. As such, the news that a third game could be in development shouldn’t be too shocking.

Trends and rules in the video game industry are always in flux. Some years, everything needs to have a Vr function. Other years, there has to be motion controls. However, there is one rule that seems to be sticking, and it's definitely for the best. Before a Aaa title releases, more and more developers have been thinking about life after launch, but few have put in the time and after like Ubisoft. Before Assassin's Creed: Origins released last year, Ubisoft already had their next 3 DLCs figured out. It made purchasing the Season Pass well worth it.

Festive days are here folks! Ubisoft is offering a small selection of classics (I use the term ‘classics’ loosely, really meaning two of their most talked about titles over the past five years… and World in Conflict)
2017 has been something special huh? A Bladerunner sequel came out 35 years after the original release, and it was ludicrous, Skyrim has seen its umpteenth rerelease, and Disney has produced a Star Wars feature so controversial that some fans are petitioning to have it removed from the canon!
It’s been a heavy one folks, a long haul. So really there’s no better time than right now to warm up to the fireplace, the overheating laptop or the loud buzzing electric heater (I really should be concerned by now) and lose yourself in some free games. Well, the folks over at Ubisoft have offered three fantastic titles from their library over the past...

From Assassin’s Creed to The Witcher, via Mass Effect, Minecraft and maybe more Warcraft...
Latest update: Uncharted delayed.
In the years since Den Of Geek first sprung into existence, we’ve consistently kept an eye on the videogames that have been touted for the big screen treatment. We’ve tried to list them all in a big article a few times before, and it feels like the time has come to pull a new version together.
If we haven’t heard anything about a certain videogame movie in two years or more, it seems safe to assume that it’s quietly been binned. That’s why you won’t find the likes of BioShock, Devil May Cry, Far Cry, Gears Of War, Halo, Heavy Rain and Rollercoaster Tycoon on this list. If we get proven wrong on any of those, we’ll update this article as more information comes to light.

After Amazon's unsuccessful attempt to turn it into a TV show and director Ruben Fleischer's disappointing follow-ups, 30 Minutes Or Less and Gangster Squad, it makes sense that Sony are nutting up once more. That's right, hold on to all your remaining Twinkies, because Zombieland 2 is a-coming.With Fleischer definitely back on board, you'd hope the writers of the 2009 zom-comedy would be too, but Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have moved on to other things: they're making Deadpool, the Watch Dogs game adaptation and, um, G.I. Joe Retaliation. Taking their place for the zee-quel is David Callaham, hot off doing a rewrite for Ant-Man as well as penning Godzilla.Zombieland's worldwide gross came in at $102 million (off a $23.6 million budget), and until World War Z it was the highest grossing zombie flim ever released in America. Sony and Fleischer will be hoping for something similarly successful second time around,...
