This movie takes place in a town called Bucktussle, Alabama. There isn't a Bucktussle, but there is a town called Bug Tussle that is within a decent proximity to Jasper, Alabama; the city where Sheldon Construction Company built the dam.
Tyler Perry stated on the featurette that some material could not be in the final cut because it would have been rated NC-17.
