Matthew Underwood, star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, is sharing he was sexually harassed and assaulted by his former agent.

In a post shared on social media, the former actor revealed that the experience with the agent is what made him quit acting.

“When I was 19, I was sexually harassed and then assaulted by my agent at the time, who had spent a decent amount of time building trust with me as a friend and mentor. Again, my trust was betrayed and my self image was crushed,” Underwood wrote in a statement shared on Instagram. “I reported him to the agency and he has since been fired — although he is still active in the industry. This experience provoked my move away from LA and ending my pursuit of acting.”

Jamie Lynn Spears has joined the show for its 32nd installment, which is returning to ABC after a season as a Disney+ exclusive (it will still simulcast on the streamer). Spears’ casting on DWTS continues a busy year for the actress and singer, the younger sister of Britney Spears. She was part of the inaugural season of Fox’s survival series Special Forces earlier in the year and starred in Zoey 102, a movie sequel to her early 2000s Nickelodeon series Zoey 101 that premiered on Paramount+ in July. She’s also a regular on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias, whose third season also bowed in July.

For much of television history, sitcoms were done in the multi-camera, laugh-tack format. A live studio audience would chuckle along with the sometimes funny, but often not, jokes that network television writers would spoonfeed to actors to deliver weekly. The setting was usually a stage that was easy to move when it was time to go to a different room or location in the story, with on-location shoots being too expensive for most sitcoms to take advantage of.

All of these descriptors remained in children’s television sitcoms as well. Most of them were simplistic in nature, low-budget, and not exactly risky in their storytelling. Nickelodeon shows like Drake & Josh, The Amanda Show, and Kenan & Kel were all effective for what they were trying to accomplish, but they certainly didn’t break boundaries when it came to the way we thought of teen television storytelling.

The students of Pacific Coast Academy are back in the first trailer for “Zoey 102,” Paramount+’s sequel film to the Nickelodeon series “Zoey 101.”

The original series followed the students at Pca, a distinguished school in Malibu. “Zoey 101” highlighted the female characters as they were the first class to grace the boarding school that used to be an all-boys academy. “Zoey 102” reunites its original characters in the present day, long removed from their adolescent years at Pca. In true revival fashion, Zoey Brooks gets together with the rest of her classmates to attend Quinn and Logan’s wedding, bringing her group of friends back together once more.

Produced by Nickelodeon Studios and set over a decade after the original series ended, the movie will follow a group of Pacific Coast Academy alumni who return to Malibu for the over-the-top wedding between Quinn (Erin Sanders) and Logan (Matthew Underwood). But it isn’t long before the whole affair turns into an unofficial high school reunion. The cast of Nickelodeon's hit show "Zoey 101" have reunited for projects several times since the teen series went off the air in 2008, sparking frequent rumors of a sequel or reboot. But now, filming has officially begun on a sequel film.

This week, the actress took to Instagram to share photos from behind the scenes of Zoey 102, the highly-anticipated follow-up movie.

The project is set to launch on Paramount+ at some point in 2023, so the only teasers we're getting for the project so far are photos from the set.

Spears, who reprises the Zoey Brooks role she played from 2005-2008, shared a caption alongside the latest batch of photos.

"Bittersweet feels," Spears shared in the post.

"I truly love all of these humans. The New Era of Zoey would not exist without each and every person doing their part to create this magical experience, including our amazing fans," the star said.
