“The Voice” battles round for season 25 concluded on Tuesday night with each of the four coaches narrowing their teams of 10 down to seven. In 2022 “American Idol” introduced fans to the Platinum Ticket, an upgraded form of the golden ticket that allows the season’s most promising contestants to skip the first round of Hollywood Week after giving a stellar audition. It may sound like judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie favor those contestants, but how big of an advantage is the Platinum Ticket?
In Season 20 the recipients were HunterGirl, Kenedi Anderson and Jay. In this case the judges forecast one finalist in HunterGirl, who went on to become the runner-up to Noah Thompson. After her Top 24 performance of “Human,” Kenedi withdrew from the competition for personal reasons. Later that season Jay finished in the Top 7, but was eliminated after well-received performances of “I Have Nothing” and “A Song for Mama.”

Singer Lewis Capaldi has made a “most difficult decision” to cancel all his remaining tour dates to focus on adjusting himself after being diagnosed with Tourette’s.
The tour cancellation comes after his Glastonbury concert on June 24, where his voice broke in the middle of singing “Someone You Loved.” Concertgoers quickly came to his aide and sang his hit song with him. The Saturday event was also his first time returning from his three-week break to focus on his mental and physical health.
On Tuesday, Capaldi posted a message for his fans.
He wrote that he had hoped the three weeks away would help him but “the truth is [he] is still learning to adjust to the impact of [his] Tourette’s.” He also referred to the Glastonbury concert as an “obvious” sign that he needed more time to focus on getting his “mental and physical health in order.”

I haven’t got to the point where any of this feels normal to me yet,” says Lewis Capaldi. He points out that we’re speaking “six years, to the day” since he released his first single, “Bruises”, which quickly racked up 28 million plays on Spotify, making the Glaswegian the fastest unsigned artist to reach 25 million streams on the platform. The following year he wrote a song about the loss of his grandmother – “Someone You Loved” – that would be streamed a staggering 2.8 billion times.
Now “Forget Me” – the lead single from his second album, Broken by Desire to Be Heavenly Sent – has turned platinum in the UK, and he’s still finding his success “just... pfffft... just f***ing bizarre, y’know? I don’t think it will ever feel normal.”

Everyone's favorite Scottish singer, songwriter, and musician Lewis Capaldi is opening up about his love life. Capaldi, 26, has been pretty secretive about his romances, but at the Brit Awards in February, he was spotted cozying up to Ellie MacDowall. In an April 2023 interview with BBC Radio 2, Capaldi - who released his "How I'm Feeling Now" documentary earlier this month - opened up about their relationship for the first time.
Per Cosmopolitan, while discussing his new single "Wish You the Best" with host Scott Mills, Capaldi explained the song's meaning, saying, "All you say is, 'good luck, I'm really happy for you,' but actually you are dying inside and want to tell them all the things you miss about them and why they should stay with you, so it's just a really happy song for the summer."
Mills then asked Capaldi if he's in a rush to settle down.

Back in September, Capaldi revealed his Tourette’s syndrome diagnosis, telling fans in an Instagram video: “I have Tourette’s, I’ve always had it, apparently.”
He added at the time that the diagnosis “makes so much sense,” and referring to his twitches, he noted “When I look back at my interviews from 2018, I can see that I’m doing it.
The singer, who spoke out about his diagnosis last year, had been singing “Someone You Loved” during a gig in Frankfurt, Germany when he suffered symptons towards the end of the song.
That’s when the audience took over, with the clip showing Capaldi take a step back from singing before throwing his guitar pick into the crowd.

Displays of kindness come in many forms, and Lewis Capaldi was on the receiving end during a concert in Berlin on Feb. 16. Midway through a live performance of "Someone You Loved," the singer experienced a flare-up of Tourette's syndrome, which results in tics, twitches, and uncontrollable repeated movements. Fans quickly noticed Capaldi trying to push through the rest of the song and leapt in to help him finish the lyrics.
"And I tend to close my eyes when it hurts sometimes / I fall into your arms / I'll be safe in your sound 'til I come back around," Capaldi sang, pausing in between words as his tics became more frequent. In fan footage from the show, Capaldi stepped away from the mic to compose himself as fans chanted the remaining lyrics. "For now the day bleeds / Into nightfall / And you're not here / To get me through it all," they sang. "I...

Fans in Frankfurt, Germany, stepped in for Lewis Capaldi on Tuesday night when the singer experienced a flare-up of tics from his Tourette’s syndrome. During the last song of the night and his biggest hit, “Someone You Loved,” the singer attempted to push through the bridge into the final chorus but eventually stepped back and let the audience take the lead altogether.
While the crowd sang out, Capaldi tossed his remaining guitar picks out to fans.

Lewis Capaldi is a big Harry Styles fan and it seems like the feeling is very much mutual.
At Saturday’s 2023 Brit Awards in London, U.K., Styles saw Capaldi in the crowd after nabbing the Song of the Year gong for “As It Was”.
The One Direction hitmaker proceeded to walk off stage towards Capaldi after pointing at him. The “Someone You Loved” hitmaker then took matters into his own hands, literally, and grabbed Styles’ face before kissing him.
BBC Radio 1 DJ Greg James caught the whole thing on camera, sharing the clip on TikTok.
