The second night Ash and Sammy stay together in the apartment, Sammy goes to sleep wearing long pajama trousers. When he is woken up in the middle of the night, he's not wearing the trousers, but only underwear.

Early in the film Sammy gives us the lowdown on vampires and during this states, "Vamps do have to be invited into your home."
Not long later, Sammy and Ashley stay at Sammy's place for safety, and while they're both asleep a vampire breaks in and attempts to kill Sammy. Obviously neither Sammy or Ash could invite the vampire in as they were both asleep.
