Every day, roughly 8,000 tonnes of rubbish are collected from the capital city of Jakarta before ending up at Bantar Gebang - the largest landfill in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. For approximately 3,000 families in Bantar Gebang, the landfill continues to be their home. While the landfill is expected to reach the maximum capacity of 49 million tonnes soon, when and how the closure will happen remains uncertain.
