The movie has a unique story, and the cinematography and music were exceptional in keeping the audience engaged throughout. The direction and casting were spot on, and it was a pleasure to see how our culture, food, land, and people were excellently portrayed. However, the editing could have been better as a few scenes were repetitive. The movie could have been a little shorter, as it became a bit stretched out due to the repetition.

Despite that, the climax was well-cleared in the mind, but the repetitive scenes made it a bit tedious. Overall, it is a wonderful piece of art that everyone should watch.

This movie is a breath of fresh air for Odia commercial movie fans who are craving to watch family dramas instead of countless remakes that have plagued the movie Industry for the last couple of decades.

I do not want to talk much about the plot as it has a suprise twist at interval. So let me break it down a bit objectively.

For someone who loves Hollywood movies : 5/10 For someone who loves Bollywood movies : 6/10 For someone who loves Odia movies : 7/10

The good -

Visuals: movie is nicely shot and show scenic locations across Odisha.

Music : pretty good.

Story concept : not stale and bit different than the typical Odia movies.

Acting : it's good overall, everybody has done a good job, the actor who portrays Jeje (Grandpa) stands out.

The not so good -

Story : Even though the story is not very stale, it feels a bit stretched and could have been done in 1.5 hours.

Editing : Without going into too much details, entire scenes are repeated which could have been edited a bit tightly to have more impact on viewer.

Direction : Movie feels a bit choppy and scenes change abruptly at times.

To conclude - it's a very good attempt and I hope lots of Odia commercial movie fans watch it, which could bring back the golden days when we had actors like Bijoy Mohanty with beautiful stories and heartfelt dialogues.

Bonus: If you have appetite for non-commercial/indie odia movies, highly recommend watching kalira atita, it's a good movie about climate change, and the lead actor Pitobash Tripathy has done a fantastic job.

First Movie's plus point First the storyline what you think which is regular but not exactly that is a big plus point then antique home and some beautiful places then Cinematography is just wonderful feel like u must involve with this and Music just relax and speech less then actor and actress perfect Choudhury babu then Baisali ,ananya , that doctor , brother perfect you feel really, PARTHA is one of best part of this movie he just excellent on his character and his expression fantastic in all situations... and after Pratikhya this is a good one for bright odia industry DAman is very good but different type so this one is just a family feel movie.. ok but one minuse point is first half is built up story but little extra slower just this one only but 2nd half is wonderful ending just wow.... and story is like what not like normal storyline what u thing but just fantastic please watch this one...

I was fascinated and curious by the name "Phalguna Chaitra". I thought it was a story of two girls with those names, but I was wrong. The story surprised me with a twist that was like a Christopher Nolan movie after the interval. The film looked amazing and the music and background score were superb. The director told the story well, but the screenplay needed to be more fast-paced and crisp. The only problem I saw was that some scenes were redundant and did not add to the plot. The audience did not need them to understand the link between the 1st half and the 2nd half. Apart from this small issue, I believe this is a movie worth watching and a unique treasure in Odia film industry. The film used a non-linear storytelling method that made it a masterpiece and an unforgettable experience.

A stellar ensemble with an outstanding performance by Choudhary Jayaprakash Das after Pratikshya!

And what a powerful performance yet again. This is an actor who can invoke a range of emotions in his audience. His comedic prowess begs no introduction. But the magic he brings to characters such as the one he potrays in Phalguna Chaitra deserves kudos.

There is some length in the narration, but it is a story that is easy on the eyes and heart. It's a few days from the pages of an ordinary household's life.

Odia cinema is doing wonders today by giving wings to ordinary, relatable narratives filled with exemplary performances. And it is doing a commendable job by putting together amazing ensemble to breathe life into these narratives. Reminiscent of the vintage days of Indian Cinema . Routine commercial success driven cinema did take over this industry for a while so it is heartening to see good stories and lovely actors doing good work again.

Here's wishing great success and love to this lovable work of cinema named Phalguna Chaitra .

This was for me the best family entertainer of this year. For a movie in the comedy drama genre this is simply excellent in all aspects. First and foremost is the solid content of the movie. Didn't feel any single boring moment in this. Very relatable theme with proper chemistry between the cast members.

Choudhary Jayaprakash is an actor whom we watched in awe over the year on his growth to such an impactful natural actor. This movie is safe in his shoulders. Not just him but also all other cast made the strong foundation for this movie. Have to give credits to the stunning cinematography and BGM too. I will say that this one will stand tall in the director duo's filmography. After the tiring and long line of patternish feel good movies this one was a real natural one, a great movie to watch with family in theatre .

First of all, I love the name "Phalguna Chaitra". Initially, I was confused about the story with the title. I was thinking there are two girls, Phalguna and Chaitra. But the whole story is different and you can feel a Christopher Nolan vibe after interval. The cinematography is really good and BGM, Music made is awesome. We watched the movie in Netherland . After many years like almost 25 years watching the odiya movie for the first time that to be in Netherland. So can't explain the excitement but Movie has all the content like music, screenplay, story which every movie lovers can expect. Characterisation is really good . The second half of the movie could have been little better instead of dragging to bring the point but message was clear. Really enjoyed the movie and grooming with music.

The suspense has created lot of excitement and dialogue Delivery was really good.

The house reminds my childhood where I born and brought up really and was an nostalgic feeling to watch the movie.

The movie is an experience of its own. The roller coaster ride from comedy, romance to the unfolding of the mystery to the harsh reality to the act of moving on.

The story has been stitched together by characters who have been appropriately named. The characters Jeje, Maa, Smruti, Kabya, Ananya, Kanha and Sukant all justify their names accurately.

There are scenes that bring out tears quite involuntarily, the dialogs hit the heart. The music in the movie is also of high quality and the great camera work and cinematography makes the whole movie a great experience to undergo. I recommend this movie to be watched with the family.

Firstly, I was fascinated to learn about the title of the movie ~Phalguna Chaitra ~ unique & distinct. Next, I found the content of the movie excellent & interesting . Amazing screenplay & cinematography.

Stellar performance by Jeje & equally entertaining act by Kanha. Each character has given their best & phenomenal performance.

Remarkable star cast & has portrayed an outstanding role.

The entire team work is commendable including location, music, film editing, costume, script-writing, deep focus , highlights & many more.

The only thing I found that was missing or could have sufficed completely is a fair speed & acceleration. To me, it was a tad slow-pace & stretched-out. Otherwise , this movie is perfect in any other way that an audience is looking for.

It has set milestones already & still in progress.

Yes, this movie is full of heart. Having a rough day, go to the theatre and watch this movie. Have free time, watch this movie. It's totally worth it.

Phalguna Chaitra perfectly fits the description of a 'feel-good movie'. It has a wonderful wonderful screenplay that'll make you completely fall in love with this movie. It's long enough (in a good way) to make you completely immersed in the characters and the story. You may not necessarily like it in the beginning, but it slowly grows on you. If I'm being completely honest, I didn't like some of the main characters in the beginning. I had problems with some of them . But as the film progressed I started understanding the reasons behind why they were how they were.

Many things that feel a little hard to believe, you'll get closure on those things as it moves ahead. The script is honestly extremely good and the movie has this sense of realism that'a conveyed to you beautifully. That's the beauty about Odia cinema. They feel so realistic and relatable, you will absolutely love these stories.

This is that kind of film that's going to be remembered for a long long time. For eg, Daman, Pratikshya, etc which are absolute classics. Yes, there are a lot of Odia movies that are insanely good, but these two classics come to mind instantly when you think about supremely wonderful Indian films. This movie Phalguna Chaitra is the latest addition to that list. Simply brilliant! Nuff said. You can't miss this film at any cost. Please watch it in your weekend since it's a perfect weekend choice .

It was very emotional moment for a odias staying in Netherlands as for very 1st time any odia movie screened . Coming to movie cinematography was very good..all acted very well.songs were very good both audio and visual. Each small odia Kicks were shown like Bana bhoji, pana , food ..those made us remember our home ...and feel hungry for our Odia food ..kudos to whole team for giving a nice movie 🎬 and thanks Oscan group and aeuro odia chalacitra to screen it in Netherlands. Our kids enjoyed a lot as well which gave us a datisfaction as they witness our cukture .Planning to watch more in coming days.

I watched it simply because it was the next show upcoming when I went to a mall and wanted to kill some time. So I had no expectations, but Boy I was blown away ! The score, music, script, acting, realistic and down to earth story ! Phalguna Chaitra is one of the Odia movie that made me feel complete recently, and I have no words other than superb! To describe hero and heroine's acting, It was simply mind blowing. A movie with substance. Many of us will find ourselves in each one of the main characters. Enjoyed cinematography thoroughly. Each frame of the movie had shades orange and blue; formed something sort of a theme.

Never thought I would write a review for a family drama. But Phalguna Chaithra is not just a funny, feel good movie but it takes the viewers through an amazingly thought-provoking journey into the life of lead characters, a gentle and kind-hearted oldman who tries to keep pace with the tech savvy generation . His cute attempts to ride along with his younger generations are endearing. The way the movie portrays the family dynamics is remarkable. Kudos to the writer, director and all the actors especially Choudhary Jayaprakash Das who have done an amazing job of fitting into the role of the grandgather so well. Hats off to him and the rest of the team!

We watched this Oriya movie in the Netherlands. Watching the Oriya movie after many years was a unique experience. We realized the overall quality of Oriya film has improved significantly compared to old times.

Phalguna Chiatra is a great family movie. The story unfolds very nicely and continues beautifully. The suspense just before intermission creates excitement. And in the second half, it unravels with moments of high emotions.

The music is nice, and the lyrics are meaningful and touchy.

The humor is subtle and very enjoyable.

The acting is quite good.

The movies could have been shorter.

Overall, highly recommended.

I hope this trend of good Oriya movies continues.

I always watch odia movies in TV and wanted to watch in big screen. And yesterday it was possible to watch it in Netherlands theatre with the help of joint effort by OSCAN and EuroOdia. PhalgunaChaitra is a fantastic movie and the characters are too good . I liked the Jeje character as it resembles the typical odia jeje ( how they are proud of their ancestors).

Liked the village vibes and it reminded me of my childhood and the acting is so natural.

Second part could have been better. Overall its a very good movie and its a must watch by all Odia people and also there is subtitles for non-odia people as well.

It's new beginning of Odia movie. Very Original story that succeeds on almost every level. Great direction with wonderful screenplay , great acting.

The supporting cast are not mere support roles rather they share the frame, and dialogues and hold the story stronger. Jeje/ Das Babu portrayed by Choudhary Jayprakash Das with a handlebar mustache and Kanha (Pranab) owned each and every frame. I salute to the producer who have courage to make this type of movie in our odia industry.

The theatre was fully occupied to its capacity and ended with a astounding Applause as the movie ends. Saw audience from all age category from people in their 60s to to children in their teens.

I think this movie can change the mindset of all odia film lover. Because the content is king and this content is not fiction it's real and screen presentation is also very natural.

Go watch it, and you will enjoy till the very end.

Worth every penny...

I started watching this with least expectations as I was not so blown away by the trailer. I thought this will be another so called feel good genre movie. During the initial scenes I felt I was right the movie will not lead anywhere and remain as another regular flick but apparently I was wrong.

The story is a slick one with the emotions and it detailing about human connection, especially how today's generation treats their ancestors . It was so relatable that after a point I was fixed to the screen. I would not give away much but if you you really want to have some good time and can watch a movie keeping your phone aside and feel nostalgic and miss ur family, home and parents, this is the one for you. 💗

In Netherlands, enjoyed watching this odia movie with friends and family. One of the best movies. Its a family blockbuster and romantic movie. It has very intense acting and all the actors and actresses have done justice to it. Movie scenes dialogues, story presentations, songs, tuning everything was fantastic. Compared to the modern hindi movies or south indian mega budget movie, this one was just awsome. Also the areas of Nabarangpur and jeypore was picturised fantastically. The organised way of story presentation was seamless which is worth watching. Both the actresses especially the grand father role was heart touching.

Sisir Kumar Sahu & Peenaakee Singh duo had made a great flick, Phalguna Chaithra, seems to have captured some real magic with their new outing . More than a part of that magic is owing to the presence of Choudhary Jayaprakash Das, who has delivered a heartfelt performance. From the start till end he makes his character relatable and endearing. Without any argument this easily becomes one of the finest movie made this year in Odia industry. Not just the feel good moments but the movie connects us well with its emotional content too . One of the finest piece of work in the comedy drama genre in odia language .

The best thing about Phalguna Chaitra is that it gives a performer like Choudhary Jayaprakash Das another opportunity to act his heart out. Phalguna Chaitra is everything you can expect given its title. The writer -directors successfully infuses a huge dose of relatability to the proceedings before we get there. The film gets its humor going pretty early on. Everyone on the film's poster (or otherwise) does well - conveying the right emotions with ease.

Writers has written the lead character of the sassy oldman in a layered manner. Right when you think the focus goes away from the sexagenarian, Rojin carefully drifts it back on him. It also tries to convey a subtle message without being outright preachy about it. Phalguna Chaitra spends enough and more time breathing life into each of its leads. The comedy is laugh-out-loud when it works and super-bland when it doesn't; that said, it's the former that we get more of. The movie looks like it was prepared to delight (and occasionally moisten the eyes of) family audiences during the summer holidays . Phalguna Chaitra certainly warrants a watch with the fam.
